Nice reports by all 3

What they did not do was give us a prediction on how they are likely to go or who will be the big improver as we still don't know that information. You cannot make a statement regarding someone or something getting better when you have no date to correlate it against.

The AFL is a competitive based environment where you compete against an opponent, until you have the information where you can compere and contrast it against a direct opponent it becomes irrelevant.

Alex, may I suggest that you find an echo chamber and tell it to someone who cares!! :)

On a serious note, thanks to all those who took the time to go to training and write their training reports for us who didn't go.

Love the detail on the progress of individual players - and the predictions that some posters did make. :thumbsu:

Hopefully Nikki Noo went to training as she thought she would, as that would mean there was at least one more report to come. :) :thumbsu:

Went along on my day off. Scored myself a tan and these babies!!!

Nice work, your Dirtiness!! :thumbsu:

Apart from having a good perve on the players was there anything or anyone that caught your eye in a footy sense?? :)

Clearly you do because you keep coming back and telling me so.

How about - identify the positive aspects of what it achieves to make such outlandish statements, rather than telling me to shut up. Everyone telling me to shut up, isn't working so why not prove the positive aspect in it and change me mind.

Rather than tell us the mindless dribble and unrealistic predictions that it allows members to be positive about the up and coming season, which is tripe because many members who don't go to training or read these reports still are optimistic about how a season will unfold. Please demonstrate the benefit of telling us that player X will be a mega awesome player next year based on nothing but a few training drills. It makes no sense.

If you can convince me and change my outlook, I will drop my crusade against this posting epidemic. :thumbsu:

you are the king of mindless dribble amazed if you have 1 friend in actual life

You have it around the wrong way mate.

If I was to go to some Joe Smow on the street and ask for travel advice - I would be having and accepting someone uneducated and bias point of view. However, if I was to go to a travel agent, wouldn't I be accepting someone profession and expert opinion on the subject?

Last time I looked, these reports are (as much as we would love it to be) not written by any expert. When Sando, Bickley or co make a predication regarding how a player will perform, I may take that opinion on board as they are an expert.

Why is everyone else supposedly wrong with their opinions, yet your opionions are supposedly right? Do you think you are the expert to judge what makes a good report and what doesn't? Judging by what EVERYONE is saying, that seems to be definitely NOT the case. Why should we agree to all your beliefs and ideas when you disregard everyone elses? Just because you don't like optimism in any form doesn't mean everyone do not like optimism. We are all not idiots that will think that just because someone performed well in a drill they will win the next 5 brownlow medals. We can evaluate what the reports say.

May I suggest a holiday destination that has no Internet access.

It will be like a holiday for us as well. Will be nice to read these excellent training reviews without wading through multiple wannabe mod posts from your good self.

A good suggestion.:thumbsu:

The comments are not outlandish. We are not idiots. Not everyone is thinking that we will win the Grand Final because of a couple players doing well in the pre-season. If someone is stupid enough to think that, that is their problem. If they do complain on the forums, it still wouldn't be as annoying as what you are doing to us now!;) I assume that when more posts are on this particular thread, I get to see reports about whats going on, but recently its been you arguing and people being optimistic about the team they support. That is what supporters are supposed to do - be optimistic and supportive of the team they support...

Popped down to MBR this morning and here are a few of my observations:
-porps had too much class for our small defenders in competitive drills. Very classy still despite his prolonged absence.
-Timmy McIntyre impressed with his running the only one to stay with van Berlo in the 5 min runs.
-great to see some new young onballers in the squad such as Grigg, Joyce and Crouch. All showed at times they are natural footballers. In a handball drill Reilly blasted Grigg for not releasing him with the handball first time.
-Dangers attack on the ball stands out in a contested situation. Nothing we don't already know.
- Many of today's drills seemed to focus on a quick response from attack to defence or visa versa when there is a turnover of posession.
-There is a lot of potential improvement in Tippo, Tex, Danger, Otten, Sloane.
-johnston again playing in defence in game simulation
-at one stage all the players were calling crouch 'hollywood' after a fantastic reflex handball that resulted in a goal. Bailey told Crouch "that's a nickname you want to get rid of quick smart!"
-danger and Tex screwed up a 2 on 1 situation they should have turned into a goal but didn't. Afterwards they together did the post mortem and clearly had polarised views of how they could have worked it out better. It was discussed in an animated but still respectful way. Danger showed a lot of maturity the way he put his views across to Tex but in the end I think they agreed to disagree :)

Compared to him you were :D

You were close to me when he gave you that gear

And happy birthday for tomorrow

There were quite a lot of people on that side of the reserve compared to normal!

Aw thanks! :)

I heard Tex call Patty a f'ing C word! Tex clearly not happy with Danger's effort LOL. Aw well they sorted it out between themselves afterwards LOL.

Yeah I saw all of that.
Basically both were at fault for the turn over.
Danger in space in the pocket running about 40m out. He could have had a shot on goal but it was a low percentage shot. He draws Tex's opponent leaving Tex free in the goal square and Danger handballs over the top but it falls a little short. Tex gets a horrid bounce which is directed to another opponent and the ball is cleared rather then a simple goal.
Who is at fault?
Tex for not moving forward more for a shorter handball or Danger for the long handball that fell short.

That was hilarious! :D His facial expression when the handball landed short and bounced 90 degrees the other way:p

Don't want to get in to a debate but James was spot on, his comment had nothing to do with your training reports but your contempt for others who have their own style and put in the effort to give us a report. Who cares if they put a bit of their own opinion, they haven't committed murder. Don't like them, don't read them. Personally I appreciate the effort and take them for what they are.

You might want to lose the attitude when going through customs.

Amen

AIOF - If you want black and white reporting you are on the wrong board;). However I did enjoy your reports even with some of your own opinions thrown in.

Merry Xmas all, I'm excited by the prospect of next year. Sando seems to be training them to be much more physical. Hopefully this will shine through on game day. BTW - Does anyone know why Aaron Duncan was not selected? I thought he showed potential.

Does anyone know if Knights is just been slowed into the pre season this year or did he have surgery after the end of the season? Think his been in the restricted group the whole time so far this pre season yet I haven't read anything as to why.

Thanks again for the updates guys. :thumbsu:

I believe he had an operation on his hip or lower back. Don't hold me to it though..

My ears pricked up when Sando mentioned that both D-Mac and Sloane have added 4kg's

With this in mind a question to those attending training, how noticeable is the player weight gain to the naked eye?

I saw that, was a classic balls-up.

I'd say Danger, for the bad handball; alternatively, I don't recall anyone being goalside, he could have improved the angle and snapped across his body... although I don't remember if he's any good on the left foot. Pity though because he did a great run along the northern boundary to get it there.

Johncock's gained a few kgs too. Pretty obvious to the naked eye.
