With pressure being pushed on Connolly, Laidley, Pagan, Clarkson and even the great Kevin Sheedy. Out of all the AFL coaches who do you expect not to be at the helm next season? And who will be their likely replacement?

Out- Connolly In- Harvey
Out- Laidley In- Longmire

Harvey will take the coaching reigns off Connolly, with conviction.

Laidley may stay. It all rests on how the season pans out for Kangas.

Sheedy should go for scums sake. They need a fresh start.

Clarkson will stay whereas Pagan should stay.

Out: Sheedy (retired) In: Harvey
Out: Connolly In: McKenna

I think Laidley will just hang on.

Pagan isnt giong anywhere. Building one of the best lists going around (in three years albeit). Cant get rid of a coach for that. And the only way to do it is tank.

I could certainly see Pagan staying on next season despite the fact the blues are certainties to finish last or 2nd last.

But if i hear the same old bull**** excuses next season i'll be ****ed off! Pagan is costing us $800k per season and he has taken us to
15th - 2003
10th - 2004
16th - 2005
and most likely 15th - 2006.

I could do that for free!!!!!!!!

I realise draft picks have hurt us and we are re-building. But we have financial problems that are really testing us at the moment. The club is quick to give **** to Kouta's contract that was given to him back in 2000..........but 'OH NO' don't dare talk dirty to pagan.

in 2007, Carlton will go into the season with 8 top 25 draft picks! No more excuses Denis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of all the other coaches, the only one i see loosing his position is CC. I love his passion, but don't see him as the coach that Freo need.

Sheedy will coach next year as well.

Laidley will stay, we can't afford to pay him out.
Sheedy will stay, his sides always come good last year of a contract. He's certainly feeling confident about remaining too, talking about resting Hird for the rest of this year so he's fit for next.
Pagan might be gone, but I suspect he'll get one more crack as well.
Not sure about Clarkson, I suspect he'll hang on. Connolly needs to make the eight and probably has to win a final to stay.

And to think, just four or five years ago half the coaches who (edit: whose players) performed like this would already be gone by this time of the year.

i cant see freo going for a non-WA person after the disaster connolly has been
guy mckennas stocks have been boosted big time recently by mick malthouse and wayne carey....wouldnt be surprised if freo go after him

Just a quick note on that as well

MCKENNA CANT COACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ask anyone at Claremont.

How responsible is Sheedy for the poor recruiting of the last 5 years or so? His game day coaching and player preparation has been good, but the drafting and trading process really needs to been overhauled over there. I think he is almost in the Pagan basket. His time may have past. It'll be a sad day when leaves though I'm sure.

I think Connolly will go. I think it needs to be someone from outside the club and it needs to be a proven coach, with modern sensibilities. As well as a disciplined and thorough approach. Is Blight a possibility to return to coaching any time? Just a thought...

Laidley will hold on unless the Roos are certain they can get a solid replacement. Again, the major problem with the Roos is their list and the shocking recruiting of late. Other than that Laidley's coaching seems OK (to an outsider).
