not interested in all the other bull shit. only one is where will we finish.
17th thru 13 for me. no ones gone 17th yet so i will.
and to start the tank debate of early depending on how we have gone to around rnd 15 16 we should be looking at this option seriously.

Well at least your focused on the long term.

I would like our leaders totally absolutely committed to premiership success long term.

None of this 2 finals in 4 years or whatever crap!!!

Premierships and lots of them works for me. If Tigers never won a premiership that I saw who knows what I would have done in the last 30 years!!

BTW, prediction- who cares , whats the difference, I want the players to improve, get good draft at the end of the year and get more threatening for a premiership long term

When you get hardcore, apart from singing the club song every now and then, winning games is irrelevant and if you know you are winning without the scoreline sing the song anyway IMO (Tigers make the trends anyway as the heart and soul of the comp don't they). Succeeding is more important, but that does not necessarily translate to winning games initiallty, it is all about player and team development progress towards winning the title!!

OK Guys, time for a bit of a reality check on these boards.. Over the last two weeks, this board has gone into meltdown. We are trading for every man and his dog, want to delist everyone not in our best 5-6 players, want to trade Foley/Deledio, want to sack our assistant coaches and are even questioning players in there 1st season of AFL Football. All this has come on the back of an insipid effort against CarlTank and then a last quarter fade out against the Bombers...

So, let's look at our preseason predictions... The majority of posters at the start of the season realistically expected anywhere between 6-11 wins. Thus, an average of about 8-9 wins was the general consensus in March..

Currently, heading into Round 17 - with 7 games still to play, we are on 5.5 wins for the year. We have very winnable games coming up against Gold Coast (Carrara), Sydney (MCG), Melbourne (MCG), Adelaide (Adelaide) and North Melb (Etihad).. Now granted, many of those games are 50-50 at best (on current form) and we also have a bye and Geelong, who I have not included.
If we were to win 2 of those matches coming up, which I believe is a safe bet (CG and one of Melb/North), we will finish the year on 7.5 wins and just short of people's expectations... However, we could well win 4 of those games and finish on 9.5 wins for the year and exceed expectations..It's yet to be seen.. Either way, we only won 6 games last year, so with 7 games remaining we only need to win 1 more game to better last year's effort.
We can also take significant positives out of the year so far. Going into 2011, we knew that Cotchin, Martin, Deledio, Newman, Riewoldt and Astbury (#12) were part of our long term future. We had question marks on Rance, Vickery, Foley (could he return?) and new recruits Houli, Conca, Batchelor who have all shown that they will be part of our future.. All this combined with Dimma getting the best out of King, Nahas etc and I think this year we have shown significant improvements on last year.

However, there is still along way to go and we must continue to turn over the list. Already this year it is evident that Hislop, Miller, Thursfield, Taylor and Tuck have had their papers stamped with probably another 4-6.. Then there is the question marks that were on Rance and Vickers, which have now been put on Post, Astbury (to an extent), Edwards, Connors etc...

This Post is not meant to be a feel good story - Boost morale, glass half full post. It is simply a long term holistic view based on expectations in March, 2011 compared to a significant amount of short sighted, reactionary views from the previous 2 weeks.

I think it's called putting things back in to perspective :thumbsu:

(still no excuse for the effort against Carltank :p)

Agree.. Never an excuse to lose by 100 points...

Although, this year we have only lost 3 games by more than 50 points (Collingwood, Carlton & Hawthorn - All top 4 teams)

Whereas, last year we lost 9 games by 50 points or more (Carlton, Bulldogs, Sydney, Melbourne, Geelong, Adelaide, North Melbourne, Collingwood and Carlton again)

Once again, shows our improvement and that we are putting together more 4 qtr efforts..
