With the season fast approaching it’s common practice to make some predictions. So what are your predictions for this year of footy.
Who do you think will finish last? First? Make the 8?
Can the Roos win without Carey?
Which team will jump up or fall down the ladder from last year?
Who will win the Rising Star?
Which team is the dark-horse, the one that could snatch the flag from no where?
And of course, who do you think will be premiers?
You can choose to answer any of the ones I have put forward, or even come up with your own, and hey I’ll dig the thread back up and the end of the year to see who picked what right :D

ya nong!! well seeing as we're playing the last match for the round, it can't be us... and freo and w.coast are playing eachother, therefor opne of them have to win. i reckon freo will come away with a win, aswell as us!

umm yeah ok.. these aren't mine.. but they are a selected few from the THE AGE's footy magazine that came out today...

1.St Kilda loses 8 games in a row at the starr of the seaon. Rod Butterss calls it "the darkness before the dawn." so one tunrs up to the games. butterss calls it "the most comfortable viewing environment offered by any club in the AFL" the complex at Moorabbin sinks completely into the earth in a freak geological incident. butterss calls it "a fantastic opportunity to start afresh". the clubs entire operating capital for the year is accidently inserted into a faulty vedning machine, and the don't even get a two hour Metcard out of it. Butterss shaves his bears, changes his hair colour and books a flight to Majorca under the name of Studdy McLunch

2. Despite public outcry, attempted intervention from state and federal ministers, and an official investigation by concerned UN officials, Wayne Jackson again reads the "voads" at the Brownlow presention.

3/ After rigorous pre-season of toil and diet, Plugger is in magnificent shape. he can't move or anything, but kicks 10 goals a game. however in rd. 14, playing Hawthorn at the 'G, he suddennly plummets to the ground unconscious from what is later diagnosed as an acute meat pie deficiency. the impact of him hitting the turf triggers a shockwave that impacts on the demolition work in the Northern stand. Luckily, since it is a Hawthorn-Swans game, fans are few and too far away o be hurt by flying debris. while this puts the ground reconstruction 6 months ahead of schedule, the 'G is deemed unsafe to host games for the rest of the season. after a futile 2-week attempt to play every melbourne-based ficture at CS, the league is forced to re-open Windy Hill, Whitten Oval and, for fixtures where the Demons play an interstate side, the Junction oval. The GF is relocated to York Oark, Launceston

Which team will jump or fall down the ladder from last year? Jump-Collingwood, Melbourne Fall-Carlton, Adelaide
Who will win the Rising Star Steven Armstrong
Which team is the dark-horse, the one that could snatch the flag from no where? Collingwood or Sydney
Premiers? Port Adelaide

Make the 8? Essendon, Brisbane, Hawthorn, Sydney, Port Adelaide, Richmond, Melbourne, Collingwood
Can the Roos win without Carey? - I agree with BPP - couldn't win with him
Which team will jump up or fall down the ladder from last year? - Up - Melbourne, Down - Carlton
Who will win the Rising Star? - Chris Judd (West Coast)
Which team is the dark-horse, the one that could snatch the flag from no where? - Hawthorn
And of course, who do you think will be premiers? - Essendon Of Course

lol.. ok maybe i'm a bit bias as well... but seriously.. u think we could beat St Kilda, Freo, WC AND Geelong at their own game???
doubt it...
and also those who said we will be the ones to fall... i kinda agree... depends how far you are thinking... from 5th to say somewhere between 7th and 10th i'd say...

yeah... on any other board (besides the carlton one obviously:rolleyes: ) it wouldn't really matter... but i'm here :D

Couldn't win with him? Against Melbourne? Last year? If you are gonna make this comment, make sure he did not kick 5 goals against your team the last time they met.

And dennisismyhero, did we not kick 27 goals against the bombers despite being Careyless?

North + Carey = bottom 8
North - Carey = bottom 8

Of course the impact on the club as a whole losing an icon the way it did would be massive, but I really doubt it will have that much affect on the on-field perfomance. It will be a loss, but not the HUGE, life-ending, club-ending, be all and end all loss that a lot of people are making of it.

Yeah, but did you win the game?

I've hated Carey for a couple of years, and I'm not a huge fan of the Roos. I think the Roos time is finishing up, and are headed for a re-building period soon.

Can the Roos win without Carey? For sure, it's the whole idea of the stuff you get fed in junior footy. It's not a team of champions, but a champion team that will come out on top. The whole carey incident will bring the rest of the team closer together.

Jump - Dockers & Saints
fall - Cats and BDogs

Who will win the Rising Star? Steven Armstrong or Chris Judd

Which team is the dark-horse, the one that could snatch the flag from no where? I'm sure if we actually made it to the grand final we could give it a fair shake :D

geez, that was just... uncalled for!! nah, i think baby shane wacked yze a little more than he wacked woey - ooze gave a reaction to make the kid happy atleast. woey just didn't have the 'time' nor energy to smile for him :rolleyes: oh well!!!
