Carlton, due to the fact that they have better upcoming players and to me the pies don't have too much.

Anyone with a half decent kowledge of the last 50 years knows the answer to this question.

Hopefully we get to play you in grand final. Again. And win. Again.

Who knows, but I expect both to win at least win in the next 5-6 years.

Tough one. I think Carlton has a better squad at the moment, but Hawthorn and Geelong will still be powerhouses when Carlton reach their premriship window. Then the salary cap will rip apart the team,

As much as I hate to say It Collingwood will get a premriship before Carlton can. I will take a guess of 2012-2015. Around the time when Carlton, Geelong and Hawthorn are dying off. Collingwood 2012-2015 = North Melbourne 1996-1999. Above average team when every body else is average.

anyone with half a brain will realise that a club that hasnt played finals since sandy roberts was still commentating would not pick the blues..

Lets use the same reasoning that England is to try and get the soccer world cup. "Its our turn"

2009 Geelong Vs Hawthorn
2010 Hawthorn vs Geelong
2011 Hawthorn vs Carlton
2012 Richmond vs Carlton
2013 West Coast vs Collingwood
2014 Collingwood vs Adelaide

Problem is, at least Carlton have had the picks which actually gives them an opportuinty to rise up the ladder quickly

Collingwood hasn't had a decent round of draft picks since 2005, which because of their 3-8 positioning over the last 3 seasons and the comprimised drafts going forward, puts them in the 'near enough but not good enough category'

Carlton will probably be the last club in a position to capitalise on the draft picks

Collingwood supporters starting such posts never cease to amaze me! This is BigFooty! Collingwood polls very rarely win because most posters vote against Collingwood regardless - a total waste of time!

What is it now, 1 premiership in 50 years?
That really only makes sense if the league is 50 years old.. it is an arbitrary number.. if you had won 15 of your flags in the first 50 years of the competetion and only 1 flag recently you'd still have 16 flags and quite rightly lay claim to equal most successful club even if Carlton had won 15 of their flags recently

In the end a clubs history is what gives it pride and meaning.. we headed the premiership table for 60 years.. longer than the other 15 clubs put together.. it will take Essendon another 50 years of holding onto the most premierships to match that record.. and we still have won the most games of any club, the most finals of any club and have the highest win rate over 111 years of any club

We make a Grand Final ever 2.75 years on average.. both Carlton and Essendon have good reason to look over their shoulder ;)

Can you please explain this one again?

How do Carlton have a better squad at the moment? Collingwood have been playing finals for the last three seasons - last year they were one of the youngest teams to win a final in recent times.

Good teams don't finish 11th, crap teams don't continually make the final 8.

Problem is, at least Carlton have had the picks which actually gives them an opportuinty to rise up the ladder quickly

Collingwood had two picks in the top ten in 2006 - one of them N Brown will be a 200 game FB

Collingwood have also drafted pretty well late on in recent drafts - Anthony, Dawes were taken at late-ish picks.

They have a far more balanced list than Carlton, and their kids already have finals experience.

They just need to add a little more quality to their midfield and find a decent ruck - not sold on Cam Wood

I don't think either will win a flag in the next 5 years or so which makes it a lottery as to whether they will in the distant future as the entire line ups of both teams will have changed. If either does win soon I'd put my money on Collingwood winning providing Thomas could turn into a decent midfielder and a couple of their young defenders could step up.

I don't think either will win a flag anytime soon, unless Collingwood manages to 'steal' one. Whoever it is, it'll be quite a wait I imagine.

Thank you for not mentioning that your only premiership win in the last 50 years was against essendon:D
