How much pressure do you think Connolly will be under now, seems to be failing to get the message thru to the players and his coaching hasnt been crash hot, players must take some responsibility but the last 2 weeks have been extremely poor regardless of conditions.

The jury is starting to come in.

His game plan has no respect from other coaches or players, and he quite simply has no plan B. The performance in the 2nd half today demonstrated a coach with no creativity or imagination and a total lack of common sense. And i'm still not sure whether Sandilands is stupid or he's simply being told the wrong thing. How hard would it be to say to him 'Smash the ball as far forward as possible every time'?

If we go down next week its going to be every man for himself.

The players have to take as much responsibility as Connolly. They were out there, and they were thoroughly outplayed, whilst only managing to kick 3 goals.

Connolly deserves criticism, no doubt, but so do the players, who simply aren't performing.

Agree, but that shouldn't let CC off the hook. The buck stops with him.

Fully agree with that. The players just gave up after Half Time. I'm sure that if Sandilands had of been in the ruck though for most of the game, we would have been a lot closer so CC has to take a fair amount of the blame.

But the players....they deserve most

Was it just me or did we go in way too tall for todays game, i know we were probaly hamstrung when siegert pulled out, maybe they were gonna drop sandi for dodd who knows. Probaly only half a dozen who can hold there head up high today, Hase, Smith, J.longmuir and Polly did allright but the others were not committed for 4 quarters

Eh? Sandilands was good in the ruck....in theory. But when did he ever bash the ball forward 15m? He was nothing special when he was on the ground.

If the players aren't performing, then isnt it the coaches job to replace them after bad performances. Post match we get the same ole message if we go down. Then comes time to pick the team each thursday we get the same ole story. Just the odd player dropped here or there.

The buck stops withs the car salesman in my book.

Maybe not but he gave our midfielders first use of the footy. Although I agree with you in saying that he needed to bash the ball forward 15 metres for a while

I thought they were good today. Physical , noses over the cake of soap , ready to back up their teammates.

No one was soft.

Maybe they weren't soft, but they weren't hard either.
Today they were a bit like a toasted marshmellow. Hard on the outside at the start, but when put under pressure their centre is anything but solid.

My question is, why change a game plan that worked OK in the first half and try and open up the game?

"OK" isn't good enough anymore ! winning the contested ball ,the game ect. is the most important thing, stop accepting something which is obviously below the standards we can set as a team!
not one coach has ever talked about a team in 8 to 10 years NOBODY that CRAP has to go out the window.

HAS connolly developed our team to as far as he can go? That is the question everyone must ask themselves.

pagan said it best last year before the carlton game. the dockers like to play an uncontested brand of football .
that style will get you nowhere in my opinion.

I didn't see any "uncontested" out there Yesterday.

granted but one game counts for nothing, i think we all have to agree our best to our worst has a massive gap ,that includes players and coaching staff.

Without doubt, but that Gap has narrowed this year though even if our best hasn't been quite as good, our worst is not as bad. This inicates to me that we are making progress although like everyone else I get frustrated by the speed of the progress.

Bomber Thompson had pressure right up until round 5 this year which is his 5th year at it, but like CC he stuck to his guns and refused to be swayed by popular sentiment outside (and within) the Club.

Maybe we are all a little impatient.
