I just looked this up and watched for a bit (and then stopped in case of spoilers) and that was gold. But how people find these ways to glitch through levels has me stuffed.
Apparently already bested by a few minutes.

Does anyone have any info on respawning enemies? I know that progressing the main story will trigger new enemies in previously explored areas, but some people reckon that destroying human bodies limits the chances of generic phantom respawns. I generally just loot the bodies (and occasionally drag more than one together into compromising positions) but never even thought about chucking that deconstruction grenade thing at them despite one of the audio logs talking about it.

Not sure, I've heard that respawns happen if you leave an area and return but I haven't progressed that much to find out for myself yet.

I've done this heaps and only once or twice have had a phantom respawn so not sure if that's normal or if it's something to do with the bodies. It's worth revisiting areas though as some funky stuff is going on. Sometimes find the occasional sign that a living person has been there between my visits.

I haven't played this, but just reading the IGN review...

If the PC version of Prey hadn’t become completely unplayable from crashes and save-game corruption just as it was hitting its stride, I’d have called it a very good or perhaps even great game. Its strange alternate-history universe, sidequests, hidden threats, and detailed environmental storytelling make Talos I a joy to explore, one that’s well worth slogging through combat that doesn’t feel fresh enough to sustain it throughout a long game. But there’s little so frustrating in a game in which you’ve invested dozens of hours as having your progress wiped out or blocked before the end, and my time with Prey concluded so poorly that I can’t in good conscience recommend you risk hitting the same game-breaking bug I did.

How do Bethesda continue to get away with this rubbish? They seem to cop a lot less flak than other publishers yet it appears as though every game they publish is the same at launch.

IGN giving Prey a 4/10 is ridiculous.

Even with technical issues, when every other site is giving it 8.5 averages (on PC too), the IGN review just feels wrong.

Especially when games like Skyrim and Fallout get 9s even with their technical issues.

Yeah I tend to agree, but the score is the least important part of the review. I wasn't really commenting on the review on a whole, I just think it's mind-blowing that issues like this can continue to be so prevalent in Bethesda games without them really (to my knowledge) being called out on it.

I don't frequent many other boards anymore so the reported technical issues are new to me. So far have had a faultless experience on PS4 and OPS Aus reported zero issues in their review. Must be a PC thing, or I'm just lucky and my experience and those of ones I know of are just anecdotal. I still need to finish it but it's easily an 8 or 9 out of 10 for me so far. Sci fi fan so up my ally but main story and sub plots have me really invested, level design is fantastic, game play is more than decent, IGN's score is a real shame if that's the case.

Technical issues were mentioned in the Polygon review (they still gave it 8.5) and other reviews, but they didn't deem them bad enough to cut the score in half.

Keeping multiple saves may help, plus the IGN reviewer's problem isn't as prevalent as it seems.

Overall, I agree that these issues shouldn't be happening. I find it weird that it happens to some but not others.

It's kinda funny because the consensus is the PC version is the better one. Polygon gave the PC version 8.5 and the consoles 8. A couple other reviewers mention the PC version is the better one too. Steam reviews are overwhelmingly positive too.

But same here, I've had no issues so far on PS4, however, apparently some issues seem to pop up late-game according to some reviews. I heard today Arkane and Bethesda are aware of some of these and are working on a patch.

There is massive reward for exploration. The beginning of the main story is almost entirely lifted out of something like Half Life but there are so many sub plots going on if you look for them. There is also heaps of info about stuff going on while you are playing through it (sometimes the game changes environments between your visits to show surivivors have been there in your absence), I'm finding it truly fascinating and one of the best sci fi stories be it video game or book that I have experienced in a long time. My only issue is that while I adore horror films I struggle with horror games. This isn't really supposed to be a horror but its atmosphere is pretty intense at times so I tend to play it more in bursts.

I think I got a little too creative with my exploration in the Aboretum though and found something I'm not sure that I should have yet and I don't want to Google in case of spoilers.

This game rules though. There are so many toys to play with, even more abilities and upgrades, great environments, a truly engrossing story and (touchwood) no technical issues as yet. Well and truly in my top few games this year.

Same here it's so atmospheric.

December just contacted me via radio, makes things interesting :)

That's my biggest query at the moment. Not sure if you have revisited Neuromod division since being contacted by December but that's what had me questioning a lot of things.

I'm up to main quest "gathering echoes" so I think I'm starting to get an idea what it's about but so far it's a bunch of bombshells that I can't quite fully piece together just yet. Just quickly heading back to Hardware labs for a side mission but my main mission and about 500 side missions are leading to Crew Quarters so I think it's about to get juicy.
