Surely Prismall needs an extended run in the team. Im sure PRismall, Kelly and Ling could interchange between the forward pocket and the midfield...

Id love to see PRismall get 10-15 games in a row to show us what he can dp

Gamble is a good player and will be for the future, but surely prismall is in his last year at the club if he doesnt get enouhg game time

I don't think you'd take Gamble out. Prismall doesn't play forward anyway whereas Gamble does and has a certain spark.

You must understand that players are not all interchangeable, just because you think one bloke should get a game over another.

Gamble and Prismal are 2 completely different players. Why not bring in Prismal for Scarlett or Harley??

One thing is for certain. Prismal gets an opportunity over Max (past his best, looking lost) Rooke. :thumbsu:

Not sure how many times you watch Geelong but Gamble and Prismall don't play the same position.

Play completely different positions; it would be like Egan coming back and taking Ablett out so Taylor can get a run. I want Prismall to get a shot as much as the next guy, but the truth is that we don't need another midfielder until one of ours gets injured - and hopefully that never happens. We have so many good midfielders, and so many other players rotated through there now like Stokes and Chapman and Johnson etc etc - that Prismall is pretty much out of luck.

Play completely different positions

they are quite different players. We need Gamble as another marking option up forward and that isn't really Prissa's area of expertise.

Not sure if anyone actually read the OP properly. He said that Ling and Kelly could play Gamble's role while giving Prismall a good run in the middle, and they could all rotate.
This would at least provide Prismall with an opportunity to show what he's got.

Never did he say that Prismall should play Gamble's position.

Its pretty damn obvious and has been stated on numerous occasions that he and Gamble are different players. It's not necessary to weigh in again and again stating the obvious, when it is evident you missed the OP point or responded to the title not the thread content.

FWIW, i think Prismall needs more time in the seniors than he has been given. If this means rotating some of the youth and changing the odd position on the field (i.e. Mid with HFF) then its worth it to keep such a talent at the club for depth and our future.

Thanks for that mate...haha to be fair i dont think my opening post w as clear enough...

I think to give Kelly and Ling a rest, wack them up forawrd and leave Prismall in the midfield, this will refresh the other guys and give Prismall a good run...

Rooke adds toughness for sure, but Prismall is a better user of the ball

What odds Gamble plays this week, c'mon who want's to bet on Gamble playing this week, I've got a gorilla that says he's in for round 7, there you go it on the table. Any odds better than even money...........

The problem is that kelly has been in damn good form this year. Against the Dockers for instance, if we hadn't had Kelly we would have been boned. Corey and Selwood were good, but Kelly played a very underrated game and constantly grabbed the ball through packs. Ling is our no 1 tagger, and playing him up forward means that he can't do that. Not to mention without Rooke in, that means no one effectivily gets tagged.

I see what people are saying about shuffling our team, but at the same time there is no reason to get rid of Gamble. Or to get rid of Rooke either once he gets some form and fitness under his belt. And if we do play Prismall and he does good, what then? Play people out of position for the rest of the season? Just seems that in the case of Prismall, unless one of our midfielders leave or hits some seriously bad form, he is doomed.

I see what your saying Dusky, but no one has stated that Pris be played all year. Just give him a go, keep him keen and remind him he's next in line so he doesn't up and leave at years end. From outside the club, this is what it appears Bomber is doing; rotating the youth and geting games under everyone's belt.

If pRismall doesnt get a chance this year, he will be leaving the club i am pretty sure. Common sense would suggest that. HE could demand a lot from other clubs and would be clearly in the best 22 of most clubs id say.

A club like the Weagles would make a huge play for him, considering the quality of midfield they have lost and the room in the salray cap they would now have...

Id say a club like the Bulldogs would also be on the lookout for a guy like Prismall...

He will be asked about a lot and i hope to god the club dont find themselves in a position with no bargaining power for him

We gave up a premiership ruckman and also a kewy forward for pick 90!

It might be good to give Prisa a few games now and give Selwood a rest. I read an article on the Addy website that he pulled up really sore from the Freo game. He was clearly our best, and was one of the few putting his body on the line.
Perhaps we need to give him a rest (maybe even just this week for Brisbane, then the bye, so he gets two weeks rest), and give Prismall a game or two (while giving one or two other mids like Kelly, Chapman and Bartel a rest).
This would give him more of a go at the right end of the season (beginning), while resting some of our key players for the second half of the season.

Definetly think prismall should come in this week and be given a go. Consistently good in the vfl and when given a chance normally goes ok at senior level. I think it is rough when players come in for 1 game does not give them much chance

I think Ling is carrying an injury, but can we afford to give him a break from tagging? Simon Black is in Brownlow form.

Gamble coming into the side straight after being suspended has shown that the club think he is in our 22 (or 18).

There is something Brett Burton about Vegas and i love it.

Prissa is a good player, but Gamble could be something special.

I'm with Rizzo here. Gamble could be anything. He really reminds me of Thomas ( Collingwood ) but he has not had the dream run with selection or game freedom that Thomas has had.
He needs game time to allow him to develop - he is a certain best 22 for a number of years IMO.

Prismall is just not best 22 .....yet. He must have upset the gods because all the players he would be a walk up start to replace have avoided injury and are playing very well.

Is Prismall contracted?

As a few others have said they are different players.

It's a shame, because in any other team he would be a starter every week :( Poor kid.

He is out of contract at the end of the year. And like it or not, if we don't play him he will be at one of the other 15 clubs next year. simple. we may not need him at the moment, but as soon as a selwood, kelly, ling bartel, corey or ablett go down, we'll need him to be ready. Even if they don't really need it, one of the midfielders needs to be rested this week, then and then someone different the week after to give Pris a go. If we lose one of those weeks, it's really not good enough to say that we lost because one of better players was resting anyway.
