Private sub-board?

Was just over on the Carlton board and saw a thread about making a private sub board for established users etc etc.....

There already is a private sub board.

I tried to get you an invitation to join but you were black balled. Sorry.

The question must be asked on how the sub-forum would be different from the Twilight Zone?

Its not like this board has a great influx of opposition supporters, so its almost private in any case.

So unless I can be convinced otherwise it would be a no from me.

We could always go down the line having a private sub-board via facebook.

Here are the options on how it could be setup.

1. Closed: For "global" groups, everyone on Facebook can see the group, but the administrators must approve all membership requests or personally send invites. If the group is exclusive to one network, only people on that network can see the group. Only group members can view the Wall, discussion board, and photos. If you are not a member, you will not receive News Feed stories about closed groups.
2. Secret: These groups cannot be found in searches or viewed by non-members. The name of the group will not display on the profiles of members. Membership is by invitation only. Non-members will not receive News Feed stories about secret groups.

If there is enough interest I would be happy to set it up, just advise which option you prefer.

No reason why you can't be on it, it would be an invitation board to those who post on the Port Adelaide board - there are other bigfooty ones like this on facebook.

It would just be there if you wanted to be part of it.

It's really no different to other forums where you have to be a member to post (and even be able to read at some sites) and the admins can pick and choose who they allow to join their site. Some people have even been invited by admins to re-join their site. I don't see the difference.

It would mean that we can discuss things footy related without worrying that cows fans, or even the media, can misinterpret what's been said and repeat it elsewhere.

I don't understand the drama. Would keep some things off the public forums that really shouldn't be public!

Fair post. Some people on this board enjoy stirring the pot and causing drama, that's why they are on my ignore list. Only forced to read their posts when they are quoted, which happens seldomly.

Nah just some of the comments on here shouldn't really be read by prying eyes ie the "I hate Tredders" type comments and "the which players do you hate" type stuff where people belittle our own side.
