Perfect solution that appeases all the Maxy lovers and haters. He replaces Hudson as the promotable rookie next year - thoughts?

The reason I raised it is having seen him in action at the VFL on Sunday and then on the club, he is a really good leader and teacher of young men ala Hudson.

Certainly no disrespect to the man. If he was considering pulling the pin, we might be able to keep him on in that capacity.

He deserves a spot on the senior list and to retire on the senior list, the way Carlton delisted and put Scotland on the Rookie list shows me the way they go about there buisness at there club, one of there all time greats gets shoved on the rookie list while Bootsma and others had a senior spot.

It's a great idea. I would extend it further. With Buckley probably being sacked at the end of this year, I would bring him back on the rookie list. He's kept himself fit and I reckon he could still get a kick in the VFL...... plus he could learn a few things about coaching when we get our premiership winning coach back...

If Maxy wants to be on the senior list next year he will be, end of story. He's earnt his place on the list and in the best 22 this year and next, more than a lot of other players who will be retained without question.
