Prog > Everything else. Proud to say I own 7 of the above albums. I wouldn't really call Physical Graffiti prog and if you're going to include Jethro Tull how could you not have Thick As A Brick as their #1. I'd also have Yessongs as #1 for Yes. I think you could include any Emerson Lake and Palmer album but I'll go for...

I have all those albums sprockets.

Let's have some from my favourite Australian Band of All Time.
Spectrum.

And in my opinion the best Live Australian Album ever recorded and I was there at Dallas Brooks for this performance. Rudd really knew how to work a crowd.

Electric Light Orchestra were more a band that dabbled in prog than an actual prog band, but here's one of their proggiest, and best-known, efforts:

An absolute masterpiece of a song, with an energising, get-up-and-go beginning, constant tempo changes, a sticky-sweet chorus, cowbell which doesn't sound overly out of place, and I particularly love the end section, which combines a martial beat with some masterful use of Gregorian chanting before the song fades out with some strings and a vocal effect that encapsulates the song's variety.

Now for a complete bastardisation of this thread, here's some pop-rock performed by prog musicians:

There are still traces of prog here, particularly in the tempo shift towards the end and symphonic-sounding keyboards, but this song is definitely crafted for mass appeal, with verses accompanied by a drum beat that encourages you to clap along combined with an anthemic chorus, which John Wetton's big-sounding voice is seemingly designed to deliver. He'd be right at home singing AOR, and it's no surprise that he, Downes and Palmer dominate the song, with Howe only getting his chance to contribute a solo towards the end. Good solo, though.

A podcast that plays more like a late night FM radio show. Worth a look at other episodes. It's on several platforms. Made a good car listen.
