Drop Bently!
Play Kruezer forward more often
DON'T allow the sniper Maxwell to play loose for 2 quarters like you let Richards do.
LET GIBBS RUN RIOT - DOES JOEL SELWOOD EVER TAG?

Prove me wrong. Out coach a master and GET US OFF TO A GREAT START!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As much as i usually find myself disagreeing with everything DBLUES says, this is for once the one time i find myself agreeing 100%. I was cursing last week in the first half about how Ratten was being out coached again. To his credit he was able to hit back and win us the game.

This week is another big test for Rats. Lets see how he goes.

Bentley may be of some value in this game.
Very dane swan like, and would be a good match up against him, any ways he works his guts off, is accountable and seems to love the club, i reckon he may be of some value
Would like to see ratten go nuts every now and then! seems to work well.

Hopefully Jameson Sentanta and hopefully walker in

Hartlett Anderson (unlucky) and if needed probably greg bentley

Also hopefully austin can crack a spot, against i think west coast or the saints, cant remember which, he showed a fiery intensity when he smashed people to the ground in tackles, and he has got gfood closing speed and seems to another one of our developing defenders who looks the goods!

Funny... I thought that he has outcoached your 'master' 3 or 4 times already...

Mate... you are a ****ing joke with your anti-Ratten attitude.

Round 8 2009 -
Carlton 16 8 104
Collingwood 7 11 53

Round 12 2008 -
Collingwood 12.17 (89)
Carlton 17.17 (119)

Round 4 2008 -
Carlton Blues 17.9 (111)
Collingwood 13.10 (88)

I really don't like you.

That gives me comfort.

I find it pretty hard to argue with that.

if you dont like ratts get over it or f#ck off

good point

I thought that I got my point over very well on the out coaching thing that DBlues keeps harping on about...

If Malthouse had outcoached Ratts and the filth had beaten us those 3 times, then I would be agreeing with him about it... but seeing as we have won all 3 times since Ratts has been the senior coach (and not the caretaker coach like in 2007), I dont think that he has a ****ing leg to stand on with his rant.

So.. message for DBlues... you are full of shit and I wish that you would **** off to the Bitchmond board where you obviously have a lot in common with the ferals.

And while you are at it, why dont you take your boyfriend Doggydoodoo's with you.

Like starting Hampson at FF vs Tiges? Did you miss that?
Drop Bently!
Up until this week no-one has given reason to. Stevens should have had him after a week in the Ants, but sadly has gone the other way. Who is playing better than Bentley at VFL level? Banno? Hadley? He is warming a spot for Walker, Robinson or Stevens. It won't be long.
Play Kruezer forward more often
Well that's the plan when Warnock comes on board. Lets say he did this......would you then complain that Hampson is getting tired and beaten in the ruck and Ratten isn't "pro-active" enough to do anyhting about it?
DON'T allow the sniper Maxwell to play loose for 2 quarters like you let Richards do.
Yet the period of the game that the Swans dominated was when we tried to man up Ted, Roos put another one back, we manned him up......and before you knew it there were 14 players inside our forward 50 and 4 inside the Swans F50. When our mids started going to targets other than Fev (i.e. Fisher and Kreuzer) as they have been instructed to......but don't listen often enough (yes....players can be responsible too you know) then the game plan couldn't be faulted.
LET GIBBS RUN RIOT - DOES JOEL SELWOOD EVER TAG?
Selwood has the luxury of being in a side that rarely turns the ball over. Gibbs on Goodes has been a near match winning move in the past. This time it wasn't working so Ratts got "pro-active" and changed it. Another match winning move.

Like he did the last 3 times we played the Pies. Like he did vs Matthews with the Lions season on the line in rnd 21 last year. Like he has against Eade the last 2 times? Is there another "master" I'm not aware of Ratten having beaten?:o

Why do you give no credit to shaking off two major hoodoos, vs Freo at Subi and the Swans anywhere......

Was it not pro-active to select Aaron Joseph earlier this year? Could have gone to Banno, the tried and reasonably true.....

Moving Carlos to CHF. Another pro-active move that until Fev nailed him was looking fantastic.

Eddie Betts into the C sq in the last Q vs Saints.....another masterstroke that nearly delivered a great win.

Russell on Johnstone last year and rnd 2 this year vs Lions.

Kreuzer to FF vs Port last year.

Sorry, didn't mean to change the point of view and point to the positives.

Ratten has nothing to prove to you or anyone else other than to finsih in the 8. He does that and he gets a tick. Period.

For those who view every game and look at how we should have won.....convinced that if only the right moves had been made we could have won.......do you really think we are invincable? Should we have a team that has gone from wins of 4, 4, 10, to 22?

Please.

3 wins in a row. Verge of finals.

Time to man up and admit you were wrong and he is doing a reasonable job for a second year coach.

Yep, wouldn't want Fev to have to take mattes into his own hands again. Wouldn't wish a punctured lung on anyone, but for Maxwell I could settle for some bruised kidneys and an elbow in the back of the scone.

Go on Nick, park yourself under one of those long bombs, I dare ya.

Fantastic post Bluebear.

Up until half time of the Swans game I wasn't sure of how Ratts was doing, I was obviously a little concerned, but after that I'm very impressed with what he did.

He's learning, just like anyone learning...well, anything... (OK that was terrible wording lol)

I personally think Ratten has been responsible for 1-2 losses based on strategies set/gameday coaching, but he can also take responsibility for some wins too. Developing coach who gets a pass mark would be fair analysis.

You just have to laugh at the timing of DBLUES comment when Ratts has coached us to victory in the last 3 pies games. Too funny!

You probably dont like Maxwell but you should admire him. Great example of what hard work and desire can do even if not the most naturally gifted. Has been a v good captain so far

One thing never questioned from day1 is courage, one of the bravest players going round, never backed off when open to J Brown as a youngster even though it cost him a #leg. Has been open and taken big hits from players like Solly, never flinches

If he has to back into Fevs path he will do it without hesitation. You can bag him for that even if he comes off 2nd best, me I always admire the players who never pull out no matter what. Dont care who they play for e.g Kenny Hunter

Bit harsh wishing a Tommy Lonegan on him. He must really get under your skin

Yes... there probably is a couple of games where Ratts lost the plot, but just as much there are a couple of games where the players were just as much at fault.

It's called a learning curve and I think that Ratts is well along the curve.

There is also one important thing to note about the club since Ratts took over... no more 100+ point drubbings

Yep full of admiration for his brave sniping of Marc Murphy a few games back, and his cheap shot on Robinson this year was a particular highpoint.

I've got all the time in the world in the world for genuinely brave players...Luke Hodge, Selwood, Ball, Riewoldt, all first class. A personal favourite is Adrian Hickmott...brave to the point of stupidity. But that doesn't stretch to wannabe tough guys who deliberately target kids.

And who said anything about losing a kidney??? That would be sadistic. I just wouldn't shed a tear if he copped a little of what he willingly dishes out to the kids.
