Hey I think this is the right section but anyways,

I was borrowing a copy of Borderlands from a friend for a couple of weeks and after enjoying the game thoroughly I decided to buy a copy of it for myself,

Now I brought a second hand copy from EB games for only $30 and I thought this was a bargain, But I have placed the cd into my ps3 (Same profile and settings) But my saved game data was non existent (I checked the ps3's saved game data and the old borderlands data was there) But on this disk it doesn't load up, I have started a new game on the disk saved it and loaded up the new game fine, But it doesn't find the old saved game data (even though it is still on the ps3).

Would anyone know why this is and if it would be possible to get my old saved game data back?

I would say perhaps the games are from different regions thus the saves might not be compatible. That's about the only thing I can think of.
I'd say it's that. Someone had the issue with RDR only last week.

Check the region on the back of your game box (it will be next to the Blu-Ray logo, if it's AU it will be a 4) and if you can check what your mates is (or ask him where he got it from) and then you should be able to find the issue from there.

Thanks for tha from both of you :)

The region of his is region 4... THe one I got from EB is region one... Think I may go back there tomorrow and get an exchange for a region 4 copy cause it also effects the online gameplay doesn't it?

Jeez, that's a bit dodgy, EB selling out of AU region games. Definitely ask for an exchange, in fact call them up on the region stuff and they might give you a discount or something (although EB are hardly a charity when it comes to that stuff;)), they're not really supposed to take out of AU region copies as trade-ins or at least that's the policy I'm aware of (when I was last in an EB a guy tried to trade in an OS copy of a game and was refused).

In terms of online, generally it's ok either way, it comes down to the matchmaking system (and I'd just be playing co-op with mates, honestly I don't think it's much of a random co-op type of game personally).

I had no real issues with Burnout Paradise which I got an Asian version of, TBH I think it's a fair myth about buying overseas games causing a real effect to online play.

The best thing is they had put a second hand sticker over the region... So I was looking for it for about 5 minuets before I tore the sticker off...

I have the receipt for it so they have to take it back plus you have there 7 day back guarantee :thumbsu: (At least there good for something)
