They probably have no clue on the state of thier list.

Goose McGuire hasn't been the same since he broke his leg (Think Nathan Brown) Lost a turn of pace and was playing in the forward line in the VFL for the back-half of the season.

Since when are Richmond not using their PSD pick?

I heard that too, but I don't get it. From my reckoning they've got about 10 spots to fill, some of those will be rookies that leaves 7-8. They could easily go to 5th round (6 picks overall) and still have a couple of picks left over for the PSD. They'll pick a PSD ahead of us no wories.

Reading on the Essendon Board Leroy Jetta is a silly chance to be delisted and as such may be out contract.
Also Stephen Browne at Carlton hasn't re-signed.

Either of these two would add midfield depth.

haha yep not played the kids would of worked or we could of copied melbournes game plan.
If a guy is dominating put him on bench then later bring him back on but at the opposite end of ground.
Play all your forwards down back and backs up forward.

Im proud our club didnt sink to that level.
But it is annoying seeing all the clubs around us with more picks in the top30
Thx to tanking an trading people of value

lol yeah, but what's more beneficial long term? Pick up selection 18 for winning 4 games while playing Head/Murphy/Campbell/Drum/Peake/Gilmore all season or get as many games into the young blokes but win 6 games?

Yeah you know I was just playin' homie. I'm sure all the regulars here know how I feel about tanking.

Speaking of which, I wonder what's happened to Memories? Maybe he deprived himself of too many carbohydrates and got sent to the Karen Carpenter clinic?

Memories and Ripper stopped posting at the same time. Coincidence???

Yeah I also think playing the young guys will be more benfitial than tanking but it is still annoying to see teams like Melbourne with all those picks for not trying. Probably not worth it for pick 18 as you say anyway and considering it is a weaker draft than the last couple where we stocked up on players.

We must have a fair bit of Salary cap, what could possibley be lost by throwing some heavily front ended contracts at some of the bigger named players that may be available?

Midfielders ideally, Palmer/Hill/Suban need protection from some established players and god knows Mundy isn't going to provide it.

If we throw money to get big names we will struggle to hold on to all our good young guns.
If Palmer, Mayne Suban Hill Ibbo Frodo Broughton etc etc continue to improve they will all be wanting bigger contracts.

Plus with new teams gold coast an the western sydney team nooone wants joining they will be throwing around $$$ like lollies to try an steal some good young players.
So we may need to pay abit more than there worth to keep them.

Geelong have released some of their delistments... Tenace, S Simpson, McKenna, Donohue and Weadon.

I'm very interested in picking up Dan McKenna in the PSD. He is a versatile tall that had some injury problems and got squeezed out by Drum (lol). Here is his player thread, you can compare his DC stats with this year's draftees and judge for yourself.

He looks very "happy" in that pic where he's jumping the fence. If we draft him I can see big Dan becoming one of Bradesmaen's favourite players. ;)

Seriously though I don't know much about him but someone who is 195cm and can play either end would be handy.

IIRC both McKenna and Simpson were pretty highly rated going into the 07 draft. Interesting that they have given them the flick so early

McKenna sounds like he could be worth a shot. However I'm always wary of players who get delisted, generally it is for a good reason and I'm not sure there are many examples of a young player being cut and turning it around at another club. Although some Geelong supporters seem surprised with a few of their delistings, hoping they manage to pick a few back up as rookies.
