Ok here it is our brand new kids in today's draft. I will admit I am a slightly disappointed we didn't take Panos, but I am sure Carlton know what they are doing.

Round 1 - Selection 15
Jaryd Cachia

Height: 184cm
Weight: 84kg
DOB: 08/05/91
Recruited from: Northern Knights (VIC)

Bio: Hard at it inside midfielder who is constantly bringing teammates into the game. Top 10 in the TAC Cup for clearances and contested possessions in 2009. Awareness and decision making under pressure are tremendous. His 2.95 sec for 20m and level 13.9 beep test was very good at Victorian screening.

Round 2 - Selection 31
Joseph Dare

Height: 188cm
Weight: 81kg
DOB: 17/10/92
Recruited from: Colac/Geelong Falcons

Bio: Versatile player who can play both forward and back. Has strong hands and an ability to read the play.

Round 3 - Selection 44
Levi Casboult

Height: 198cm
Weight: 103kg
DOB: 15/03/90
Recruited from: Dandenong Stingrays

Bio: Tall forward with fantastic overhead ability. Contested marking is a clear strength as is his ability to consistently win on-on-one contests. Over age player for Stingrays in 2009 whose clean finishing skills were obvious, booting 41.14 for the season. His 3.04 sec for the 20m was very good for tall player at Victorian screening.

Round 4 - Selection 56
Simon White

Height: 190cm
Weight: 88kg
DOB: 17/06/88
Recruited from: Subiaco (WA)

Bio: Versatile tall who generally plays down back, in which his closing speed makes him a headache for leading forwards. Can go forward and kick goals at crucial stages. Great leap and is strong overhead.

Round 5 - Selection 66
Joshua Donaldson

Height: 193cm
Weight: 85kg
DOB: 04/05/91
Recruited from: Ocean Ridge/West Perth

Bio: Athletic ruckman with excellent speed and leap for his size. Tremendous competitor with good hands overhead. Can play a variety of roles. WA U18 representative in 2009. His 74cm running vertical jump was in the top 8 per cent at Draft Camp and his 8.22secs for agility in the top 20 per cent.

Round 6 - Selection 73
Zach Tuohy

Height: 187cm
Weight: 91kg
DOB: 10/12/89
Recruited from: County Laois

From County Laois, near Dublin, in Ireland as an international rookie. Caught the eye of Blues recruiters after excellent performances at junior level in Gaelic football. Has a strong body and likely to be used as an on-baller/defender with the Northern Bullants. Has coped with the rigours of his first pre-season extremely well.

I am happy overall, we have a 198cm kid, and reading a few things he seems to be a likely type.

despite our ever growing list of midfielders I'm actually really happy with Cachia, he looks like a nuggety tough midfielder who can win the hard ball, it's hard to say about the remaining ones, but it's good to see we have gone for a couple of KPP finally

Hard to know whether to be happy or disappointed with rookie draft selections. I'm hoping that we have plucked some gems though. Looks like we went for a good mix of players, obviously I'm most pleased and excited about Levi Casboult.

Cachia, hopefully he can put some solid performances in for the Bullants and prove his worth as a footballer, and get a couple of senior games, because it was a great pick by the Blues

This kid can play really good footy, and could easily slot into a FF role next year with no issues at all.
Great grab, big bodied and a good set shot for goal, this selection will allow Kruezer to stay in the ruck with Warnock.

Highlight package....

I have a sand filled door sausage that stops me having any issues with drafts, you should totally get one dude. :D

yep, because im sick of people with no idea complaining that we didn't get this bloke because he is a key forward and so forth... i trust the club and so should they...

Fair enough, perhaps just bypass other opinions that don't concur yours.

This would be the club that destroyed the salary cap rules, got fined a million dollars and lost key draft picks for a period of time and stuck us with 5 years of pain, do you mean that club. Trust should never be absolute, unless its your dog :)

Couple of good drafts there for Carlton though, WH did well.

Pardon my ignorance if I missed it, but I didn't see any other club pick up Cam Cloke.

Does that mean we're paying his contract out and saying thanks for the memories ?
Port took Cloke.

I'm stoked with our selections. :thumbsu:

Levi Casboult

Must admit the more I hear about him, the happier I get. He is 198cm, and 103 kilos already. That just screams that he could be playing seniors today, and with a couple of pre seasons could be a real star and a steal in the draft. :thumbsu:

He'll be pretty hard to miss on the track. Hopefully he's at training on Thursday so I can see him live. Didn't see him play at all this year.

I'm definitely making my way down to training on Thursday to get a look at the new guys. I'll be sure to take plenty of photos.

To be honest, i really have no idea about the rookie draft, and i trust Wayne Hughes judgement, but i really can't comment. But Joshau Donaldson, is he really a ruckman at 193 cm. Unless he grows at least 4 or 5 cm it seems that it would be impossible to ruck in the AFL. But again, i have never seen him play, so i cant judge

Yep thats the mob, you remember then, the same mob that brought you such great hits as 1995, 1987, 1982, 1981, 1979, 1972, 1970, 1968.......

Selective memory does not serve you too well.

Don't want to get ahead of ourselves, a lot of hard work ahead of this group, but based on what I've seen during the year, and where I ranked them...this bloke has come early this year...
