Phil Read **** right off :thumbsd:

He is a down right hack, would add absolutely no value what so ever to our list and would just be another dud to take up space.

Cant kick , is slow and has little angry man syndrome.
:thumbsu: Absolutely agree. This guy is a tool. If we need to recruit a player just to annoy the other team we are in trouble. Any kid in the draft would be quicker, fitter, better skilled. The only thing Phil Read has ever done that was good was getting in the way of Dale Kickett's haymaker!:p

man, give you the tip, your opinions on players mean JS to me. As mine do to you of course.
I mean i bet you are even dreaming of Petts going AA huh? LMAO, hold on, maybe he will, lets just see if he picks up a meter or 2 in speed over the summer.
Lets just say this, look at your last line and think about another forner player that was of the same ilk that was coached by TW.
Just gotta hunch. Lets just say this, he is better than Flemo, in skill, and Phil is angry for real, whereas Flemo kind of was one of those that tended to be more hot air than real angry.
We have a requirement for an angry ant that does stupid things at the right time, not at the nothing time that Flemo tended to do. They tend to alter the flow of the game, when its not going our way, when they do it at the right time. ;)

Heres a tip for you

You know SFA :thumbsu: dribble some more crap for me Cogga, I think your hunch is just so you can add another crap post on BigFooty. ;)

Terry Wallace is coaching not Danny Dudley, if we recruit the likes of Phil 'the dill' Read, then I'll quickly start doubting the direction this club is taking.

The club will go backwards if we start taking that route :thumbsd:

well lets just say this PRR, I hope for my sake that TW does recruit Phil, so you can get so p***sed off with him and the direction of the club that you tear up your membership and find another past time to amuse yourself with.
You see, i was a staunch advocate of getting fev and aker, i aslo was p***sed off with chubba getting axed, i also had a problem with the talk about Cogga being traded. But the one thing that i dont have a problem with is the direction that TW wants to go in, and whichever way he does it, i dont really give a rats, as long as he does it.
If he gets or doesnt get whoever, whenever, for whatever, or he gets rid of whoever, whenever , for whatever, its part of a plan that I have faith in.
Even with Tiv, yeah he is the number 1 punching bag for us, but for TW to still have him as required, means he knows something we dont, dont know what it is, but it is and he is the coach that we have there for a reason and the reason is he can see, what we cant, below the surface of the glaring stuff ups.
So i will continue to bag him and he will continue to play, big deal, as long as we are heading north, that is the bottom line. ;)

LMFAO I wont be going no where if that crap happens and I'm sure I wont be the only one bagging the crap out of the dud if he manages to get promoted from coburg seniors.

You have me totally misjudged as a supporter but keep it coming, its highly amusing :thumbsu: Ofcourse your opinions are never wrong hey Cogga ?

you see that is where you misjudge me dude.
How do you know that my opinios can never be wrong?
Lets see, get fev he will be a star for us, right or wrong PRR?
Get aker he will make the difference, right or wrong PRR?
Dont think Tiv or Hyde or Petts or P. Bowden, can cut it, and might be around as a bit players, when we eventually become serious contenders, if they are around at all. right or wrong PRR?
we cant afford to lose Gas as he is one of the best stopping FBs in the comp, right or wrong PRR?
cant understand why and how they axed chubba? is there are right or wrong there?

You kind of forget that its a footy forum dont you, we come here to put our 2 cents in and spin the BS and debate and argue dont you?
We are all, wannabe coaches, wannabe scouts, wannabe recruiters, you name it we wannabe dont we? that is why they have footy forums.

Lets put it this way, when you suggest, that Of course my opinions are never wrong, have you ever seen me suggest, something like, see i was right? dont think so dude, so you work out if i really care if i am right or wrong. ;)

dude, sorry to have misjdged you but you dont seem to be taking things calmly when you suggest this:

So if TW did happen to do somehting like that, out of the blue, you would then think that another Spud is coahing us? Before even seeing why that player was recruited? like i guess you have alot of faith in TW not recruting that type of player? But you still scracth your noggin trying to work out how a Tiv, still is a tiger too huh? ;)

Would be a joke to draft Read, complete hack, hasnt played serious football for several seasons, simply not good enough dont care how tough he is

Its one thing turning a former Brownlow Medallist into a successful (dirty rotten) tagger. Its another thing altogether taking a suburban footballer like Read and doing it.

adelaide have delisted chad gibson, is 195cm and 93kgs according to thier website, apparently plays in norwoods defence and is not to bad, is only 19 i think......worth a look??

Can probably also push forward, as he has a strong mark, and crashes packs. I thought he was heavier though...still if TW or Miller have seen him play and have shown any interest, i wouldnt mind if we gave him a shot.

yeh just checked another site and they have him listed at 99kgs....apparently has alot of strength aswell, maybe could be tamed to be the next mal michael...i would love it if TW or GM decided to give this kid a shot only 19 and didn't make it in his home state so he may do well in the heart of football knowing that the SA clubs dont want him....

If we picked up Phil Read I'd be incredibly angry. I just can't stand him. For 1 he's an A-Grade dud with a wannabe tough attitude. He plays "suburban" footy and is now not a very young. He would be a waste of list space. Would rather groom another small grunt midfielder then acquire this hack. Sorry coggarules but we would definitely be heading in the wrong direction with these sort of PSD pick ups.

grechy, roll it back a few years, see what you were saying abotu Mark Graham. Then roll forward from there a couple and see what you were saying about Mark Graham.
For the price of peanuts, at no 89, he only has to play the 4 games where we might need an assignment executed, and he has repaid his cost. Then he can play at Coburg and protect the youngsters in that part of the world too. That is they way i look at it, you see it differently, good for you. ;)

Yeah, but does Phil Read fill a gap the same way Mark Graham did? We were well short on tall defenders back then and he got the job done. I don't see a shortage in the spots Read would play (in fact didn't Miller just come out and say we had an abundance of them?).

But apart from all that, we are building long term aiming for consistent finals from a couple of years onwards, probably aiming to challenge for a flag in 4 or 5 years. I can't see any sense in recruiting someone who's not going to be around then. No player should be brought to the club that is over the age of 25.

if they come as cheap as chips and they are tough and rugged then they can serve a purpose, whether in a senior game, snotting someone, or at Coburg, protecting the kids that we are developing. Thats how i see it anyway, there is always room for a player in amongst the kids, showing them what can happen to them when the games get real serious, and what the can do about it. You can chuck him a one year contract, match payments, and jod done. he is a proffesional to the way he approaches training, built like a brick sh-ihouse and for me, the demons f***ed up, because they didnt have anyone in the freo game doing to players what Josh Carr was doing, taking their eye off the ball, because the flying elbow was incoming.
And if you theink he has a problem with his kicking, well, yeah, he aint the best kick when it comes to style, but Tiv looks beautiful when he latches on the left peg too. Problem is, well we all know that one anyway. ;)

Protect the youngsters? The way this clown fights he'd be lucky to protect himself from an over-excited group of creche escapees. Forget Phil Read, he offers nothing, just like he has to every club he's been at.:D

It's a fair point - 25 or over is probably a risk that isn't worth it.

Although - apparently Scott Welsh may be available - 27 though and unlikely to get past the clubs before us.

I find it surprising if Adelaide will let him go - offering him less money. He's one of their few forwards that is dangerous.
