Robbo was good on 360 tonight.... talking about losing the GF and the coach identifying they needed toughening up, and they do the camp and the players collectively fall over etc etc. Then he said ok Coach asked himself “Am I a part of the problem? Am I a part of the solution? Reckon the players need to ask themselves that too”. Absolute fair comment.

Sorry but I disagree. A good coach will ultimately win flags, he has a style that can win him season matches but doesn’t hold up under finals. Blight learnt from his failures and converted that into two at the crows.

The review is too late. Makes it hard to make any moves. Dons departure is too late. 4 other clubs have already appointed their coaches.

Any potential recruits (lol) won’t come without a coach in place.

Campo Hart Burton will survive. Mainly because we will be flat out replacing Pyke...and we won’t admit that the best footy department ever assembled had so many duds in it.

I think that's verging on bedwetting to be honest. The 3 clubs that appointed coaches all appointed their caretaker coaches to the top job. North Melbourne didn't even interview anyone else based on everything that's been said. There's plenty of prospective targets out there. Happy to see what the review unearths first.

I think that Pikey is the type of guy to resign. I believe that he is a honourable man and the type of man to put the club first. He had two years left on a contract. If the club was pushing him then they would have been up for a payout of $1.6m (at least that what others on here have been saying his contract is worth) but given he has pulled the plug the club wont be liable for that payout.

Personally, rather than bagging Pike I would like to thank him for his efforts and whilst his actions at times may have been questionable, given the circumstances that revolve around his time, I think he gave us many successes.

I hope that there are others that will fall on their sword. I would like to see Burton and Hass get the arse along with Fagan.

Now the next couple of months will be very interesting given we now definately have to find a new coach.

He said the club was in great shape, and reiterated the fact, but he was talking purely from a financial standpoint. That was obvious.

You can say that and you'd be very wrong though.

Reliably go deep in finals and you are a good coach as you've effectively done everything in your power to win a flag. There is an unfortunately large element of luck to winning a finals series though with the right people staying healthy to the ball bouncing the right way that can act as a difference.

Lyon is the poster boy for good but unlucky coach. Much like Blight was before coming here.
