Grrr yeah I'm getting that too, about 3 or 4 times during both form screen displays.

It just takes cancelling the error popup and pressing F5, to resume it, but I have to work out what the hell is going on

eth has just pointed out a full-blown error that will make Qooty fall over no matter what the platform! I better get his sorted first!

I get bad file name

Freakie I have uploaded a new version of MENU.BAS for you.

Can you please:
1. rename your MENU.BAS to back it up eg as MENU2.BAS or MENU.BKP. anything, really.
2. Download MENU.BAS from http://qooty.footypedia.com/MENU.BAS and save it into Qooty folder.
3. Run Qooty and hopefully it'll get far enough to bring up the menu?
4. If it does, look bottom right and tell me the text that appears beside OS:

If there were a bunch of "file not found" warnings :
5. Quit out of Qooty
6. download this file into the Qooty folder : http://qooty.footypedia.com/osadjust.dat
7. Run Qooty again and tell me if the warnings have disappeared.

(playing matches probably won't work for you at the moment, I just need to get to the bottom fo this first)

ethy can I ask a question?

When that error occurred, had you terminated a match early (eg {ESC) key), or not?

If you hadn't, then what Settings changes had been made. Can you bring up your Settings screen (bottom menu item) and put up a screeny of that for me?

The BD is obviously meant to be MBD, a league you've created for Mt Buller Demons matches.

This means that there is no osadjust file in your Qooty folder. Can you please go get it and try again? http://qooty.footypedia.com/osadjust.dat

I've just realised something interesting. It knows what these file names are supposed to be called. Its changing them for some off purpose, but its reading them correctly at some stage before bastardising them. How do I know? Because looking at your list above, its sorted in alphabetical order of the correct file names!

Doesn't help much though!

The first line had me flummoxed originally, as he was royalandroo in the original game. (Game stat card below) On closer inspection, I realised that the opponent field, more often than not, was against his own team. Is this because when I've abbreviated the Falcons to their five letter name I've named them CDIST, but with file names I've opted to make them CDT as opposed to CDI as logic would probably suggest...

yes, there is an issue between 3-letter abbrevs and 8-letter abbrevs. I am still thrashing it out
unsure if its totally caused by manual team name changes, or if its happening regardless.

Goal Hauls :
Unsure, hard for me to tell this second, it might be that you don't have hauls of 12 goals or more, or something like that. Will take some investigation.

Do the DT points always start at 169? Or is it just the highest DT score at the time.

As for the abbreviations, I suspect the issue is caused when the 3 letter abbrev does not match the longer abbrev's first 3 characters.

CDIST -> CDT

WESTS -> WES
NORTH -> NOR
SOUTH -> SOU
EASTS -> EAS
COAST -> COA
VICTO -> VIC

All seem to work fine.

I'm pretty sure I am, because both the formatting of scroobs' stats and the opponent corrected themselves when I changed the file name.

Hahaha, well I've fixed all that up and it's fixed up the opponent fields, so that'd be the change you need to make. As for the DreamTeam listing, I've narrowed that down to a name change error, as the list works fine before I apply any name changes. I'll go through the list and make sure that none of the name changes have eleven characters because I'd assume this is probably what's doing it.

Yes 11 characters will break it, because if it sees an eleven letter name in there, it assumes foul play, that someone has been tinkering with the data.

Tarks try this file http://footypedia.com/qooty/usertest/ALLSTATS.BAS in place of Utils\ALLSTATS.BAS to see if it'll fix your streak problem. Tell me how it goes.

hey mobbs prob obvious question,

how do you swap a player in a team with a new player? I know how to do positional changes and between different clubs but if we have 2 players here, 1 who is in the sim and one who isn't how do you swap them?

Aha!

If you have a league where there are supplementary players, what you do is create a second league, call it "Supps" or something.

Create the same team name with Supps in it, eg ROYSUPPS.
Then add your supplementary players in there.

No need to configure that league

If you don't have 20 Supps, just use null names for the rest of the slots. Anything you want.

Then you can transfer players between one league and another
