Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

There is one teensy weensy issue with doing that, though :D

When you're running a league, finished a round, and want to sort some goalkickers or stuff like that, you can only choose one league at a time. WHOOPS! Some poor bugger who's kicked a tonne but is currently out injured (and hence moved to the Supps league) doesn't show up on the Goalkickers list.

I'll try to multi the league with a future upgrade.

Ok Mobb.
I have Windows 7.
Downloaded Qooty.v9.zip
Extracted all into Qooty folder.
and nothing in the folder will let me use it, OLDDOS and QBASIC comes up with a "this version fo the program is not compatible' is there anyway for me to get it or just no chance?

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

Ok then it might be Windows 7 itself. Apparently there's a way to make a Windows 7 computer run as an XP computer. I have no idea how ... I have always had XP, so not sure where to go from here.

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

But if I download to an XP or earlier PC it should work with no limitations? And all I need to do is install Qooty and hats all, no other addons

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

Seems I missed some posts.

Anyways I have a laptop now with Windows 7 and I can't use Qooty on it. L.O.L.

CAB If you download it to an XP or any computer right back to the old AT's and XT's of 20 years ago, it SHOULD work fine.

With XP, you will probably need to place the autoexec.nt into your system folder. This file is part of the download.

So I spose it won't work on Vista...

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

Hi Mobbenfuhrer or anyone else who can answer.

Any reason why the away teams forwards get swapped around for there backs. Same with half forwards\half backs?

On the sim however they are entered and appear in the edit\transfer options as they should be displayed but still get swapped when the team is in a away game.

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

No they don't get swapped, except randomly during the match.

You're simply reading the team sheet incorrectly.

A. Enter your new team from BP to FP and on through Foll and Int.

B. Play your match by selecting your teams.

C. Your lineup page shows the teams AS THEY LINE UP AGAINST EACH OTHER, eg it displays one teams FB v the other teams' FF.

This is, of course, the way a match is actually played.

D. When watching the game progress, it is STILL shown in this format.

E. After the match, it shows the team sheets EACH from BP to Int again, which may confuse you a little.

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

Freakie I have uploaded a new version of MENU.BAS for you.

Can you please:
1. rename your MENU.BAS to back it up eg as MENU2.BAS or MENU.BKP. anything, really.
2. Download MENU.BAS from http://qooty.footypedia.com/MENU.BAS and save it into Qooty folder.
3. Run Qooty and hopefully it'll get far enough to bring up the menu?
4. If it does, look bottom right and tell me the text that appears beside OS:

If there were a bunch of "file not found" warnings :
5. Quit out of Qooty
6. download this file into the Qooty folder : http://qooty.footypedia.com/osadjust.dat
7. Run Qooty again and tell me if the warnings have disappeared.

(playing matches probably won't work for you at the moment, I just need to get to the bottom fo this first)

Thanks!

I'm having problems with the setup configuration, I've tried to download the MENU.BAS but cant for some reason.

This is the message I get at the moment.

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

That looks like it can't find the UTILS folder.

There's usually two reasons for that:

1. There isn't a UTILS folder (you can check with a basic look through My Computer), or
2. You are using Vista or Windows 7, which in many cases will refuse to see that folder regardless of whether it is there.

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

I've tried it on XP and 7 and it's the same.

The UTILS folder is there, does it need to be in capitals?

Re: Need help getting Qooty to work on your computer?

I have a portable USB hard drive that I connect at work on XP and use it at home on windows 7, I need to have it that way because I could need to run it at anytime.
