Anyone here making the trip to the MCG for Round 10?

I am interested in going and would like to know if there are any cheap hotels around the city for a night or two.

And if it is worth booking in advance for the match.

The Victoria Hotel at 215 Little Collins St is pretty good value. Smack in the heart of the city and relatively easy walking distance to the MCG. Ph 1800 331 147
As far as tickets go. You should be able to just walk up and get them won't be even close to a sell out but if you want to get a ticket before hand anyway contact The Adelaide Crows Melbourne Office on (03) 9827 9111

See you at the post match!

Victoria Hotel is a fantastic place to stay. It's cheap and really nice and not too far from the MCG at all. I've stayed there before and would defintely go and stay there again.

I wouldn't say i've seen a huge number of Crows supporters there but then again there are so many hotels in Melbourne.

Well worth the money and it has a fantastic front bar too!

As for purchasing tickets i'd just wait till you get to the gate and buy them there, doubt we'd sell the place out.

The Hotel Claremont on Toorak Rd in South Yarra is 50m from South Yarra train station....next station up the line is Richmond (MCG) and 6 mins total time to Flinders St. It is clean and pretty cheap, and you are 50m from Chapel Street for shopping/partying. Check out their site here

There is plenty of cheap Accommodation in melbourne from as low as $50 buck a night. Just look up cheap Accommodation on the net and book if you have a credit card.

It a great weekend away and even better when the boys get up for a win. Remember to take your crows stuff because there is always lot of crows people around and willing to talk to another crows fan at the game.

I think I will be there for the match against Hawthorn on 28/5.

I would like to know who is going, how they are getting there and where to meet up.

I am not confirmed yet, but I should be good for the trip.

See, me, I'm a tightarse, I either stay with Family or catch the Bus over there, get there at 7am, then take the 11pm train home!
Hence, I know bugger all about accomodation in Melbourne, but I do know the most useful piece of information you'll need...
The Pub across from the Vic. Markets, last time I was there, had Pale Ale on tap! ;) :p

You do sit in front of the goals don't you?

I'll teach you lot how to annoy the living s**t out of the opposition supporters. :D :D :D

As someone who lived in Melbourne for 3 years I can reccommend you stay in East Melbourne where there are some good apartment types of accommodation. You are a short walk from the G and also a short walk to Bridge Rd if you want to go shopping.

e.g. George Powlett Apartments or Metro Hotel

Otherwise there are heaps and heaps of hotels in the CBD, particulary little Bourke St and Spencer St. The cheaper ones tend to be on Spencer and you are a short tram ride from the MCG or about a 20-30min walk.

Yeah we do, and trust me I KNOW how to annoy the living **** out of the opposition supporters, ask anyone on this board that knows me;)

My would-be travelling companions have better things to do now.

Sorry... won't be making it for the match.

That's OK though, will now be joining The Stand and the Green & Gold Army for the OFC Nations Cup matches at Hindmarsh.

Im likely to goto that game, I usually go with friends and go in the morning and leave at night.. saves accomodation, aswell as staying a day in Melbourne.
Hopefully with some luck we will be 1-8 going into that game and it will be the last time I see the majority of the hasbeen list disrespect the crows guernsey at the MCG.. aka Rd 1 2004.
