Where is his career at for Fremantle?

As a non-supporter it is hard for me to analyise where he is on the pecking order and why he isn't getting a game?

Where is he on the pecking oreder in terms of tall forwards?
Has Harvey concided that he isn't good enough and will not play him at all this year?
Will he be delisted at the end of the year?
Hows his WAFL form been?

Any info would be great thanks.

Hopefully he'll be back in the side soon but no guarantees.

In response to the original post, lots of people on this board rate him as our best option for the third tall forward spot. Our order would probably be Campbell, Ryan Murphy, Kepler Bradley. The coaching staff seem to rate Murphy higher than Kiwi and Kep, but Murphy's fast running out of chances. If you ask me, he's had enough chances now and hasn't shown anything resembling AFL form for the last two seasons.

Kiwi played one game this year (against Hawthorn) and didn't kick a goal, but I thought he looked dangerous when he was on. He had two goal assists that game but spent long periods on the pine. His WAFL form has been solid, fluctuating depending on who West Perth were playing. Obviously if Cardies are getting r*ped further up the ground, it makes Kiwi look bad because he's not getting many opportunities up deep in the forward line. But if they play well, he generally kicks a bag. They won easy last week and as Shay said, Kiwi kicked 10. QED.

Generally, he works very hard, leads long and straight, hits the ball VERY hard (ask Darren Glass), has really strong hands and can butter up at ground level. What's not to like, I hear you say. Well, I agree. He can be a very important part of this team, playing deep in the forward line, given the chance. He and I are both still waiting for that chance.

Thanks for that information its much appreciated, sounds as though he is still in the mix just needs a patch of 4-5 games at AFL level to see what he can do, and where he stands.

Well Ibbotson was a project player and so is Adam Campbell... Here's hoping he comes good like Ibbo.

I think we wont truly know how he will go until he is given at least 3-4 games in a row instead of in one week out the other...

Kicked 4 last year against Hawthorn.

Looks a more complete player than Murphy especially with his agility and speed. This year and the net pre season will be interesting. Wouldnt suprise me if he becomes our second option with pavlich by seasons end next year. Certainly has the potential... Or could vanish into obscurity just that type of player

Reading through and I was about to post a similar post to SuperD. Campbell's a project that the coaching team have been working very hard at and still are from what I can gather. He's entering into the stage where he's on the verge - the problem is he's basically a hard true FF and with Pav and Tarrant in the team fitting 3rd tall in the style of game played these days is tough. Having said that, Taz and Pav are both able to play up the field and agasint the right opposition he'll have a shot.

In terms of order, Big Kev had it about right; he's probably not quite as good as mark and even shot on goal as Murphy, but definitely harder, a bigger body and probably a harder worker too. The other thing is Murphy has a bit of an advantage in the 'versitility' department ... although rarely done, Murphy play away from FFWd in a pinch.

i think the only query on campbell at the moment is his pace off the mark. this isnt found out so much at wafl level but for afl its ordinary, even for a big bloke. that was evidenced earlier in the season by a poster who went to training and said he was being burnt off by hasleby . but i think we should reward form and seeing as tho we probably wont make finals this year, give him an extended run to see what he's capable of.

Love the way he goes about his football, if you ever go down to training you can tell that Cambell gives his 100% on every occasion. He will never be as gifted a player as Murphy but has at least twice the heart and passion. At the very least he will give a contest and split a pack open for Farmer to work his magic. Murphy offers nothing to the side at the moment, his kicking which was his saving grace has gone to shit also.

I have to contest that comment. Murphy has looked pretty poor shooting for goal ever since he had those hotspots (pre-stress fractures) in his foot in late 2006. To the point where he has struggled to make the distance a few times only 45 out. Campbell on the other hand, is very accurate and a booming kick when he wants to. I would back him in if he had it outside 50m.

Like DBT, the difference I see between these two is commitment. A couple of years ago CC brought up the fact that Kiwi would stay late after most training with a couple of blokes (including Cookie) and have as many shots on goal as he could fit in before it got dark. He even had Cookie put the highbeams of his car on so he could see and keep going. That is commitment to improve, above and beyond what is expected. The bloke has played less than 10 games, how many key forwards have started dominating after 10 games?

Being at the Melbourne game one of the things that killed us was Murphy.
The guy has all the heart of a pea, he has wasted opportunities and cost the side dearly when we needed him to step up.

Now is the time to stick with big Adam Campbell for the rest of the season at Full Forward. He needs a decent go as well and the teams that we will come up against will give him a fair go as well.

Crashing the packs open is exactly what we need our big men to do instead of ducking away from the crunch. Farmers influence will be double when the pack is busted open and he is waiting.

Campbell in-Murphy out for at least the next 5 weeks. Murphys heart (If he has one) is just not in it at all.

Go Dockers!:thumbsu:

Sad to say I agree. Sad because I really rated Murph but as others have said he may have done his dash. I also agree that Murph offers a bash & crash factor that might work down front. Together with Mayne may can some agressive spark & give the other more talented players like Farmer/Tarrant some room to work in. Pav of course gets it done no matter what else is going on.

Actually I'll give you that one, I've still got memories of 2006 when he wouldn't miss from anywhere, but no doubt Campbell's improved and can def be considered and accurate kick - the distance thing I'm not too sure about. I've not enough WAFL this year to comment, but I'll take your word for it.

i think what cost kiwi is that after he kicked that 4 goals in one game last year he went missing in the next 3 games and hasnt been able to show that dominance again

I've always been a fan of kiwi, mainly because the way he goes about footy, the aggresion. Hopefully this might be finaly a sign of things to come.
