Been researching a bit about this bloke ...

He seems good height, pace and weight to play a key defensive position .... How come he has been unable to get a game since 2002?

Would he be likely to leave the dees to further his careers?? Cos i'd like to have him at carlton!

Cheers

I'm sure we could arrange a trade ;)

Nah but seriously this is his LAST chance to make an impact for the Demons this year Chris Lamb. He just hasn't been able to break into the Melbourne senior side...plus a lot of us reckon Neale Daniher has a strong dislike(hatred) for him....but that has been proved to be unfounded.

He also seems to be very good at VFL but not good enough for AFL...he hasn't been able to grasp his opportunities well enough which is very disappointing for him and the Demons.

I'm sure a few clubs would be interested in Chris Lamb for a late draft pick...these clubs would include:

Carlton....would you really need him? Thornton seems to to be pretty good?!

Bulldogs....I'm sure they wouldn't mind him although they have got Harris and a few others who are handy.

Richmond...umm they have Gaspar...I dunno who else..???

Hawthorn...if Hay was fit he would be doing a lot better...they also have Jacobs...but I'm sure they wouldn't mind a key defender too?

And possibly a couple of others....???

at carlton it'd be great to push thornton to chb, and if lamb fits the bill for a fb that would be great.

du think he's better suited at fb or chb??? he's 193 cm and 98 kilos so he could definately hold down a key position. if so we'd love him down at carlton.

whats the beef with neil? i remember last year u guys were calling for him to play in the team all year!! what happened.

cheers for the reply .... GO DEMONS!!! (just thought i'd do that :p )

hes a FB and thats it

with wheatley and biz out for the next few games he MIGHT get in but broadbridge has come in and done well

also carroll and fergy are ahead of him 2

we'd be happy to trade him im pretty sure

but hopefully for a draft pick (20-30 is probably all we'd get), not a dud player

The way he stepped up after Nicho's knee injury in 2002 was very impressive, but just couldn't crack it last year. Maybe ND thinks he's too one dimensional in that he can only play full back. I dispute that and I think he should be in our team, we need another option when Nicho gets a few kicked on him - eg against Lloyd last week. Rivers isn't strong enough for these types of forwards yet and Ferguson is still playing sandy 2's.

He struggles with his attacking game, although has been working hard om it for the last couple of years. He's not going to get a go a Melbourne but it would be good for him to get another chance at another club.

rivers has played on and beaten blokes much bigger than he is

his courage plays a big factor in that

if u watch al of lloyds 6 goals on the weekend, bout 3 of them were only kicked coz he was lucky to be in the right position at the right time

only twice he was beaten on the lead which is a good effort

how old is lamb btw?

and how olds nicho

nicho has plenty left in him and by the time he goes fergy or carroll or someone else we pick up along the way can slot into FB

i cant imagine lamb being to much younger than big nich

Consistent and reliable defender who succumbed to a knee injury midway through 2002. Missed the first nine games of the season last year, before he returned in round 10. Managed to string 10 games together at full-back where he performed consistently, before injuring a foot and missing the rest of the season. Will look to play most games this year and reaffirm his position in the backline.

In short I feel that if Nicholson hadn't done his ACL on the Queens Birthday 2002, Lamb wouldn't have gotten his chance until Ellis also did his ACL later in that season. Having said that I loved Lamby's game in the 2nd half of 02. He & Bizzell held the backling together for the last two months of the season.

Ferguson's arrival saw Lamb shelved again, I cannot see what he did wrong?

He should've been traded at the end of 03, for his sake not our's.
