Surely I'm not the only one think that this weeks team was an excuse for Sheedy to use this:
IN: Reynolds, Watson, Hird.

Wonder if he'll write it down in his future book about how he was on of the men that brought 3 generations of Bomber greats into one team.

Yeah, probably. Don't forget Ken Fletcher's son at fullback.

Another ploy to get bums on seats. Have to admit, it'll work, although it doesn't make for real professional coaching considering the tiny thread our finals chances currently hang by.

I guess if you were one of those people looking for any more proof that Reynolds may be getting games for his name, then you've got more ammunition.

I'd rather see our best 22 personally.

Stealth, you seem to have an obsession with this lately, and I have noticed it in the 'tone" of many of your posts this year.

Sheedy will always play the best team, or the team he thinks is best suited to the circumstances. In 1992, it seemed EVERYONE wanted Sheedy to play Daniher and Madden in the last game in round 22, but Sheedy refused saying it was unprofessional, and that they had to earn their spot. I agreed with Sheedy, actually that day. Sheedy wanted to give the spot to a young player, to give them some games.

Eventually Sheedy relented, and played Madden and Daniher, but only because of public persuauion, and he knew it didn't really matter, because we couldn't make the finals. Sheedy felt strongly (and always has) about selecting the right team. He didn't get his way he '92, but he has got his way every other time.

Sheedy might like to promote the matches, via a carefully planned comment in the media, but he would NEVER and has NEVER sacrificed the well-being of the side just to get a few more bums on seats. That's not his style - it's not Essendon's style. John is right - Essendon is not like North. We have never tried to promote a match, and sacrificed the well-being of the side to do so.

As for the 'IN" inclusions. Well Jobe has to be listed as an "IN", because he hasn't played a game yet, so he has to be an "IN". Hird was obviously going to come back. He's the side's captain and best player so so surprise that he is listed as an "IN" alongside Jobe. And Reynolds has played pretty consistent footy this year before losing his spot a couple of weeks back, so new huge surprise that he was an "IN" too.

And that explains his appaling coaching becuase he is too busy buidling up the game. There are more responsibilities than just picking the team for the coach - also coaching on the day. Which he has not done well for some time.

why don't you go coach the side then... or perhaps someone else from big footy.. we all seem to think we know more then the coaching staff

the players dont want to play for the coach? is that why we're losing? well TD struggled with the reserves side last year, so its clear the players didn't want to play for him as well

Go Team that is a pretty poor arguement. the reserves had half a team all year. You do remember last year we had a lot of injuries and the 2nds always bleeds. Actually you will find TD's coaching record is very impressive, and the reason is he commands respect. Sheedy did, but with all his outbursts and arrogance, not anymore.

yeah, you're right. It was a pretty poor argument. I admit they did have alot of injuries to cope with.. kinda like the senior side over the last two years... but yeah, you're right.. sack sheedy..
just out of curiousity.. which players clearly dont want to play for him anymore?
