Not sure why.

Perhaps it has something to do with how the Bulldogs have played over the last two weeks. IMO they havent been all that impressive.

I really think we can close down there forward half. Looking forward to a great game.

I was very confident going into the Port game, dont feel that going into this one though.

I think our team is a bit too tall and short of a couple of runners in the midfield.

For us to win players like Staker, Rosa, Schofield etc (ie the quick runners) would all have to have a game out of the box. Plus hope the heat really took it out of the Doggies.

You never know in a two team race though.:thumbsu:

I was quietly confident we'd start strong against against Port, but just don't have that hunch going into tomorrow's match.

I have a bad feeling going into tomorrow and reading our midfield, that feeling is justified.

I just havent been all that impressed with the doggies over the last two weeks. They've played two pretty meek sides and havent thumped either.

If we can hold our structure we'll go along way to winning the game. Also think the Doggies will struggle to run out the match given the travel they've endured over the last month.

Hopefully the humidity hangs around as well.

Im not. Even if we win enough ball from the middle our forward structure will be a blunt axe. I think if Kennedy and McKinley where playing i think we could be a chance.

What is the fascination with McKinley? He is not the answer and will not win another contract with our footy club IMO. I thought they shouldve traded him last year as his value wouldve risen, sadly it will not reach the same level again and his market value will be nothing next time he is out of contract. McKinley is not the type of footballer we need in our side moving forward.

As for being confident this week, i feel similar to the Port game, quietly confident.

We are at a stage in our development similar to 2002-2003 when we will be competive at home most games and far less competitive away as we saw last week. As we develop we will be strong-unbeatable (circa 04-05-06 & even 07) and very competitive away from home.

Would someone be kind enough to find a thread full of people talking about us before the game we beat St. Kilda last year? I think it would help put this pre-game in context.

about 50/50 id say.

Western Bulldogs are a top 4 side, and will only get better this year, so its going to be a tough game. That and they always play well against us. That said Cooney and Murphy being out will work in our favour, as will their two trips to subi in the past month.

I agree about him being traded; but would still have him in our side, especially against the western bulldogs if we want to win.

Im not so confident and going forward i dont see how 2009 results have a large bearing on our future when we are playing players that wont be around when we attack the top four again. A bottom eight finnish is ineviable in 2009 the question is what we want to get from the season.

we haven't played 4 quarters yet, if you guys play the way you did against port, you're a real chance, if we play the way most think we are going to, then we're a real real chance

if we play like we have for 99% of the time this year and you play like 99% like you have this year...then you're going to be way to good for us

I am feeling pretty confident also.

We were decent against Port and their form since suggests it was a reasonable win.

As Swiftkid said, the Doggies have been good without being great and if we can get on top of their forwardline - and our backline has been a strength, we are in this.

We embarassed ourselves last week and many questions will have been asked. If we go hard at every contest and can win across half back, I reckon we can do this.

Bulldogs were actually very ordinary last week.

Its just that Richmond were worse.

We wont win, but I Would like to see hardness at the ball and a strong contest at each stoppage.

Bulldogs are a excellent running outfit and will blow us away at home if we dont go out and try to match them.

Go Eagles.

Eade was spewing last week with the dogs supporters!

9 players where put on notice even though we won by 10 goals

Hill -Ward-Higgins-and Griffen will run run run Subi suits them.

You will need to on top of Jonson and Hahn to win.
