With the Adelaide Forum running hot tonight with posts, i thought ill start this new thread on Rhett "BIG" Biglands...
Now im not a Crows supporter, but when i look at this man, he looks fit, very strong, and extremely mobbile for a ruckmen. However, he did not show me much tonight?
With Hudson gone for basically the whole year and Clarke spending more time on the bench, what will Biglands be like for you guys this year...?

By the way, Crows look SHARP, my tip for the flag...

One of the enigmas of footy. Looks like Tarzan, but can play like Jane at times, with an occasional dash of Tarzan just to tease.

The truth is that he has quite a few attributes and overall is doing a reasonably good job.

Unfortunately he has the footy dumbs, not the footy smarts. :D

Spot on. However I dont think we used him as well as we could have tonight.

With three ruckmen in the team I was surprised we didnt try one of them up forward - esp Biglands. He can be a useful pinch hitting forward at times.

I'm not the greatest Biglands fan either. But when you have three ruckmen on the bench, Bock is out, Bass is underdone, we're not taking too many marks up forward...surely we could try Clarke on the ball and Maric or Biglands up front for a spell? Give the Cats something to think about and give us a big tall target to aim at.

I agree about last night. We could have put Rhett up in the goal square and at least he would have made a contest, not like he who shall remain nameless.

 What was that!.....I heard what you said:p

Now how can I be nice........he won't play forward if we have McGregor, Perrie, and Hentschell - too many slow players.

Having said that Biglands is not jumping as high or agressively as he once did at the bounce but at least he hasn't done too many dumb things of late

He can't WW. Since they introduced the circle from which the ruckman has to start his run-up, there's no way any ruckman can.

Agreed and that was his strength....the new rules have diminished his ruck effectiveness

Rhett was not our worst player, but the problem is that he does not do enough around the field. For good ness sake Clarkey took more marks!!!!!

Maric was a litle disappointing cf with previous weeks but he did not have enough game time.

I thought our rucks were good at the ball ups and boundary throwins but our run on players, except for Goodie were beaten, particularly after quarter time.

Luke Jericho. :p

In my opinion the crows should look to trade biglands at the end of this year while he is still of value. They have Maric coming through and Hudson will be back next year I think its a good oppurtunity to get another forward in the trade week or another key backman???

He'll be 28 by trade week 2006. Not sure how many clubs would be interested. Then again, a proven ruckman is always a valuable commodity, so he might attract interest from some strange quarters.

With Clarke retiring at the end of the year, Huddo an unknown quantity & Maric, Meeson & Griffen still very young, I would think we would want to hang onto Biglands.
