Extra full time KPD this week. Unless we're moving Cunningham, Wicks or Mills out, then Roberts surely spends less time there. So if he's not in his usual role, might be sub.

I think Roberts is rated higher internally than he is amongst the fans. He was sick and missed a game, and brought straight back. I doubt he gets dropped again just two games later.

Sub isn't dropped.

He was brought back vs Port and played further up the ground because we were playing with 3 KPDs, both Wicks and Cunningham, plus Blakey.

Last week, while Francis went down there a bit, we were down a KPD so there was a spot opened up and he reverted to deeper in D50.

This week we revert to 3 KPDs, plus Wicks, Cunningham, Mills, Blakey playing as I said.

No doubt the club rates him in defence, but it moved him when the team has the same makeup as this week.

That said, I suspect we'll have Buller as sub, or be even more dumb and it'll be Gus.

If Sheldrick is sub it can only be because they want to manage him a bit, but even that is unlikely given he just had a bye two weeks ago.

Maybe Hamling could come on as sub given he can play at either end? Gives us a bit of flexibility maybe.

I still feel like Cleary has too much of what we lack to not be in this team.

Like sorry but we are nowhere near good enough as a team to be turning our noses up at a guy with slick hands and superb tackling & closing speed.

Not trying to rush him rusty, I think he's already there. I don't think he's a world beater yet but I think we need better hands and better tackling and Cleary has good hands and good tackling.

Gus as sub while he's had low TOG and is apparently being convinced to re-sign seems odd.

Hamling would be an incredibly strange sub given the 5 tall options Freo have in their forward line. It would lead me to think Cox needs to be sent to the reserves for a while.

One of the biggest reasons to play Lloyd at all is his endurance to get into and make space all game. May as well drop him if we're making him sub.

So in those games we were playing worse for most of the game, without that tall? And when that tall played, we were better?
