Fourteen players unavailable through injury last week. Dempster, Armitage, Lonie and possibly Sinclair all chances to come back.

I would think the two 2012 draft boys (Saunders and Murdoch) would be the prime candidates to make way. Saunders was disappointing and as the sub Murdoch was thrown deep end into a game that was firing on all cylinders.

fair chance saunders just played his last game for the saints, if he gets dropped this week, that's it for him I would say.
Got another year on his contract doesn't he? I agree he has been poor at AFL level but I wouldn't completely write him off just yet.

Saunders not yet 21 and has a contract for next year. Doesn't look good for him right now but things could change.

Either way, they weren't all going to make it.

surprised he has got a contract if so he could still turn it around, poor poor game Saturday and was a perfect chance for him to get amongst it.
good luck to him but don't like his chances much.

Looking at our injury list, we have quite a few players in the mix for selection this week. I don't think we'll be seeing Longer coming back this week after the impressive debut of Holmes and Hickey's solid performance.

I'm unsure about McKenzie and Wright... I recall hearing that they're taking precaution with McKenzie since this is his 2nd concussion this year so I doubt we'll see him for the last 2 rounds. Do we know the severity of Wright's finger yet?

Armitage, Lonie, Dempster, Roberton & Sinclair would not be qualified for VFL finals so if they're fit they should play AFL. Longer seems done, but Wright, McKenzie & Acres should probably go back to VFL along with some others to have a run at that level before finals the week after.

If all five are fit it's going to be tough to leave a couple out. After Saunders, Murdoch & Shenton... perhaps Membrey (which would take Riewoldt away from the wing where he did very well on the weekend) & Ray but starting to get very tough.

I suspect we'll see Schneids in for a farewell against his old team. Surely he'll come in for Saunders, it's hard to predict what other changes will be made. I'd like to see Markworth given the last couple of rounds and wouldn't mind Delaney in to play on Tippet. No need to rush anyone with a niggle back into the side.

My changes would be

Out: Saunders, Shenton, Murdoch, Ray
In: Schneider, Delaney, Markworth, Armitage

We'll probably bring Robbo and Dempster back instead of Del and Markworth though.

Goddard on Tippett for mine.

Would prefer Shenton out rather than Murdoch.

No doubt is was a disappointing game for Saunders- as a running player he was just not near the contest enough. Shenton is handy, but I think he will always be the guy in the wings- in and out of the team. Murdoch should stay in- has a good strong body and can actually kick the ball well compared to half the team. Probably need Delaney in the backline against the Swans, but not sure if Markworth has done enough to earn a game?

As I said in the review thread, Murdoch really shouldn't be dropped (despite his poor game) after just 1.5 quarters in the AFL this year. At least give him a start and see if he can get amongst it.

If he doesn't perform then drop him for Round 23, but he, like any other young, inexperienced player, needs to be given a second chance to prove himself.

So, with the potential ins of Schneider, Markworth, Dempster, Roberton (I suspect Longer, Lonie, Sincs, etc, are pretty much cooked for the year)... does anybody see us potentially pulling off an upset?

Hey guys! First of all, was hoping you guys got ontop of Geelong the other night and best of luck for Sunday. You have a great bunch of kids and the future looks good

Just like to point out how awesome it will be to see a Canadian and American play against each other in the ruck (assuming both are picked). Who would've thought this 10 years ago?

Best of luck

All we need is a Mexican CHB, Brazillian CHF, Argentinian FB and Peruvian FF and we're all set when the Pies import a 12 foot Chinese bloke to play with a Japanese mid and Korean flanker.

I just hope we don't celebrate an opposition player. Don't boo him if it's considered racist whatever. But don't celebrate him.

OUT - Dunstan, Saunders, Ray and Shenton.
IN -
Armo, Markworth, Schneider and Delaney.

Meatball sub. Play him in the middle for a full qtr when the pace is out of the game.

Is Schneids going round one more year? Could be a farewell game against the old mob.
