Cant seem to find a thread about this, if there is one please merge...

Already pretty pumped for this with Danger playing, he'll definitely have a big one.

Adelaide have copped it twice now from the umps - game against Hawks and now tonight.
Makes me think we're screwed in that department come Friday as the umps will want to turn it around, we might be playing against a couple extra men.

Won't be anything new to us. :$

Dangerfield to destroy them.

I'm worried that at the first centre bounce Dangerfield will turn to Selwood and say "Hawthorn sends their regards" and stab him in the chest
Sounds like you have been watching too much Game of Thrones

MOD NOTICE:

This game will have plenty of hype about it. Feel free to add to that in a respectful and passionate fashion.

That said, little leeway will be given for trolling or baiting posts from either side.
AFC posters will be allowed to post here. Don't take their presence as an instant troll - however they will have a shorter leash than GFC posters.

A great game for both side no doubt and no injuries please.

Game of the round. The anticipation is high. Friday night footy in the city of churches. This will be a sellout. 50,000+ loud and passionate fans assembled to watch two quality teams duke it out in the best multi purpose stadium in Australia.

Many a cat fan in Adelaide feel this game is well overdue considering the unfortunate scratching of last year's fixture.

There will be a massive media focus on the betrayer, Patty Dangerfield, the Crows b&f of last year as he heads back to town. How will he play? How will he be treated?

Things are looking pretty good for the Cats. One of the best defenses in the league. This week however they are up against a very smart forward line. With twin towers in Jenkins and Walker, throw in Eddie Betts & Charlie Cameron and it's enough to have any defender on edge. Particularly Betts' opponent.

In saying that, the kpd are clicking well at the moment. Henderson is looking really nice as a third man up and the boys are using short kicks from defense to good effect. Ruggles will be in for a tough night but if he continues his hard nosed approach he may surprise a few.

Centre clearances will be pivotal. Something the cats have improved significantly this year. I think they have an edge here. Thank god we have a/2 ruckmen in the team. Patty and Joel (equal leaders in the alfca votes) are clearly better players than Thompson and Crouch.

The cats take the most marks inside 50 than any other team. Tomahawk is in awesome form and Kersten may have turned the corner. The Crows are still averaging 59 inside 50 against which is a -7 differential per game(thanks Hood007). Combined with geelongs superior marking prowess inside 50 this could be the biggest factor to a Geelong win.

When Smith and Stanley are forward they are contributing, 5 goals a piece. Crows may lack one more quality defender to help Talia although Lever does read the game well. (Still glad we chose Cocky)

The Cats lead Crows in most statistical comparisons. The one glaring negative is rebound from def50 which is 40 to 29 the Crows way but wait, Laird is not playing. Yippee.

I could go on spouting hyperbole about Motlop, Blicavs, Duncan, Guthrie but I'll do that another time.

My prediction: Cats by 29.

Crows coming off a massive game.
Big rivalry games for obvious reasons..... Dean Gore potentially lining up to face his old club. :p
If not that, then it must be the battle of the 2014 pick swaps from the draft as Lever and Cocky compare themselves to who got the better of that pick trade...

Will be cracker...

Not sure its too easy to compare Lever and Cockatoo, both very different players.

There was much chatter at the time as to who got the better of the pick swap.

Lever is a gun CHB, and AFC have done really well with him. We are seeing Cocky bloom. Both have made their place IMO. They are very different players.
But the point being both have contributed to their club and are getting better.

This may be a controversial statement, but I'd say we're a better team this year without Dean Gore. As brilliant as he was for us, I just feel like the boys have worked better as a collective since his departure.
I'm glad someone had the guts to say what we are all thinking! :thumbsu:

Are you serious?
Without Gore and Simpson taping the ball to him we've been destroyed in the middle. It's just another typical Geelong trading move to get in an injury prone dud like Dangerfield.
Scott and Geelong deserve to lose this and Gore will be Bog.

Linc will obviously come out and even though Scott said he should be ok Cockatoo could miss.
I know he's had many chances but I'd like to see Smedts come in. He's played well in the VFL and is being played in the forward half.
Murdoch and Horlin smith some chance as well. From the game I saw Murdoch is behind others though.

Out McCarthy Cockatoo
In Gregson Smedts

Bews in for Cockatoo. With Eddie in mind and didn't mind seeing Ruggles push further into the midfield.

GHS in for Cockatoo if he doesn't get up. Adelaide shop window. And another hard body v Sloane and Thompson that may allow Selwood and Dangerfield to drift forward more often.

Cracking game. Cats by 14.

I hope the Cat's fans go easy on Gore and don't boo him too much! He served us well but we had to let him return home.

I'm just worried the Crows will lift for Gore's 200th. A remarkable feat in 7 months by any measure.

Hope the umps don't have lot of bearing in this game. The talk is obviously about the midfields, but i think stevie motlop now becomes a worry for them. Boris or Guthrie to edwaurdo Betts and everything else as per normal. Officially it's already a sell out, the more boo's for pfd the better.

Most of the Crows fans have T. Menzel as a likely in, which would remarkably mean Friday would be the first time the Menzel brothers have played against each other.

Adelaide got first hand of how well we played yesterday, with board member and club gr8 riccuito part of the fox footy commentary team.
