When the Crows play away, I mute the TV and listen to 5AA.

I've decided I can't stand McDermott any more, and will try a different station next time.

Any recommendations? Who else does AFL footy? The ABC? Triple M?

Who do you people listen to?

I like MMM but always seems to be slightly out with the TV which I can't stand so I'm stuck with the TV people.
They were HORRIBLE last night.

Why don’t you like him?

Rather than just say you don’t like him, how about come out and tell why he is so annoying. What did he say last night?

I find Chris McDermott to be extremely interesting to listen as he is not a one eyed buffoon who has to tell us how ****ing good we are every 5 seconds.

I enjoy listening to someone who is even and balanced with there comments or someone has the audacity to tell us we are doing something wrong rather than telling us we are so ****ing good and kryptonite would not even hurt us.

I cannot stand listening to KG commentating especially at home game, if we miss a few shots on goal he will continually go on about how we are missing vital opportunities (even when we are ten goals up)

“Oh I don’t like theses signs, the Crows are kicking themselves out of the game and that will give (insert other side) an opportunity to comeback latter” that ****s me to tears.

I'm no fan of McDermott. I think he's exceedingly arrogant and changes his tune every five minutes. I can think of very few occasions when he's actually added something positive to the commentary team. One moment he's suggesting a player is struggling - the next he's saying what a vital member of the team the same player is. I remember about a month or so ago he was extremely critical of questions asked by some journalists at a post-match press conference. The next week (might have been the week after) he went to the press conference himself and proceeded to ask some of the most ridiculous questions possible.

I think a McDermott-free media is a good thing.

We are talking about a guy who wanted 12 delistings at the end of 2004, so we could "do a Carlton". What an astute football judge he is.

Why don't I like him?

Let me count the ways!

Actually Roger Rabbit's pretty well covered it.

IMHO he never says anything new; it's all trite and cliched regurgitated rubbish.

Crows98, you say he's not a one-eyed buffoon who's always telling us how good the Crows are. IMHO he's the opposite, trying to tell us the Crows are struggling, then when they are doing well, he reluctantly praises them up ...

Sorry, maybe it's a personality thing. Just. Don't. Like. Him.

Well he is obviously still bitter about being given the arse a decade ago. Its quite pathetic.

:thumbsu: good post agre 100 per cent
his best mate is now at the power where do we sign mcdermott's papers

AA have ebert dong power games and he does a good job as a soothing voice for the fans why cant we have some one oh yeah thats right who would they use

McDermott's bitterness has slowly subsided over the years. Don't mind listening to him now.

Ebert stinks. He is so unbelievably full of praise for The Paaaa before the game then turns on them viciously if they play poorly. Just like Port fans.

I wish we'd be able to get the 3AW commentary team on 5AA when we play in Melbourne. It is 10 times better than Rowey and the boys. They often have a guest commentator there from one of the teams. Surely Ben Hart could put in a few comments while he's out? They had Shane Crawford on Saturday and he was terrible but Luke Darcy was very good a few weeks ago.

I got no time for Mcdermott:thumbsd: One minute he bags us then we are top ****e.
During the F/s fiasco all he could say on fox footy was to bag our admin saying it was all our fault as we agreed to the rules years ago. When it was pointed out the Ebert Scenario and how it changed the goal posts he ignored it and carried on like it never happened.
He was pretty strong in bagging us but he was running on mis information.:thumbsd:

^^ Yep 891 for limited bias due to their allegiance to Geelong and Hawthorn, plus it is an entertaining call, and no-one would have veins popping out of their forehead.
