Who do you Prefer for the Footy?
Personally i prefer MMM, what about you guys I'm just interested in your opinions because Triple M always seem to get killed in the ratings when I think theire much better then the others!!!

The only good thing about 5AA is the fact that KG is so easy to scam tickets out of, whether it's footy, basketball, movie premiers...what ever you like...you can get it.

I have heard them, there ok what makes then special MMM has funny down to earth blokes, calling the game. Most of them just call it as it is especially BT

Simple answer: Rex Hunt. The guy is an absolute legend. You've got blokes like Healy and Wallace to give you the serious comments, but then Rex comes up with his hilarious comments. Nothing beats that. Stuff like the fat lady...and when the fat lady sang, but the other team got up and won, doing the reverse of the fat lady. It's classic stuff.

ABC- Drab and dull except for Parkin and Alves.

3AW- Better special comments and lead up to the game though if it's close Rex's commentary can be a little confusing even if it does convey the atmosphere best. A lot of "Goes long to..." and "Got it back there to..." Doesn't tell you if it's a handpass or a kick.

Triple M- Sam's special comments are his best asset and I'd prefer to see him doing this on channel 9 rather than the footy show to be honest. Beside's him, they're not that great I hate the phrase that they Rock football.

Never listened to K-Rock so couldn't comment on that.

In conclusion- 3AW gets my vote. it's fast becoming tradition and footy won't know what they've got in Rex till his gone cos he's a BIG part of every matchday now. Imagine footy without Rex calling the game.

We only get 3AW and the ABC. No way would I listen to Tim the toolman Lane. Rexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx rulesssssssssssssss.

K-Rock (formerly 3GL), lost a lot when EJ passed away. It was pretty good up until then.

3KZ with "the Captain (Dyer) and the Major (Ian Major)" was the best for years.

3UZ (before they got the racing) had Williamson and Bartlett doing it..wasn't that bad.

The ABC is all about professionalism. Get it right and keep it that way.

3AW is about personalities. Rex today is unbelievable, but, Harry Beitzel was pretty similar remembering back to the 80's.

MMM is nearly a carbon-copy of 3AW, which makes it strong. Most of their commentators got their start on 3EE (which is now Magic693), who got their team, in part, from the old 3AK, who weren't too bad either.

I would tend to agree with you there. I've heard a fair bit of 6PR over the years and they certainly do present a fair and unbiased call. 5AA could learn a lot from them.

How can you say that ?? You can listen to 3AW and Rex's moronic nicknames and not have a clue about who the hell is even playing.
That routine might've been mildly funny 10 years ago but its worn it's welcome out big time.
Clinton is fine but that egotistical vaudevillean is well past his use by date.

Roy Slaven & HG Nelson will always be my favourites. I don't need people telling me who's got the ball, I can see that for myself. I need some entertaining comments, and Roy & HG certainly provide them.

We get a lot of 3AW on 5AA when the local drongoes such as Stephen Rowe aren't on (Rowey proves that you can teach an ape to sort of talk!!)

Love it!! For all of the reasons stated above.

ABC is pretty good too.

Agreed. They make you feel like you are there. Both have this knack of calling the key moment in the game to perfection (like clinton calling akers sealer in last years gf).

Didn't mind the ABC with Lane on it either - interesting to listen to and very informative.

I cannot stand Triple M. Amateurs who think they are gods gift to calling footy.
