Was a good solid 9 year haul for Fitzy, including the 2003 DC title, great job, but time for change was needed, hopefully Rafter is the anwser to guide our players back to the World Group (might also help to get better players...).

Interesting to see Hewitt under Rafter providing Hewitt is fit and healthy playing next year.

Good to hear, but if people like Carsten Ball turn out to be crap (which unfortunately appears to be case), and we don't actually unearth anyone, we're still buggered.
Maybe Pat can be a player/captain I still have a poster of him up on my wardrobe from 2001 and the paper has started to go yellow.

You can have the best coach in the world, but unless we have a couple of players in the team who are in the top 30, we will struggle.

Rafter's success will essentially come down to the progression of Bernard Tomic. The kid has some serious talent - taking Marin Cilic to 5 sets at the Oz Open earlier this year was no mean feat.

I feel sorry for Rafter. I Really do, he does not have much to work with. He has one player at the end of hes career and and the rest have not been what I classify as stars. The Gooch has under achieved and he has alot of talent which for the life of me cant let it out. The right coaching he could be anything. Again the coaches on offer when Fitzy was captain is terrible. They need Cahill, Stoltenberg, Rasheed and a few others to help out. Tennis Australia should do something to get them back. At the end of the day Rafter has a tough job ahead of him. Its not going to be easy!!!
