gibbsy, you may as well put all 30 teams in to a hat and pick one out randomly, just make sure they all have different names instead of 29 of them being cavs

Of course you stick through the tough times.

If plush toys and cotton is the thing binding you to a team, I wouldn't say that is true support.

Was waiting for this. Do I need to sign my name in blood too?

I actually agree with Gibbsy. seeing as though 99% of people here are NOT from the USA, it is really hard to follow a team without choosing one. yeah sure if you live in cleveland you support cleveland. It's like living in Victoria and supporting the Bushrangers. It is the exact same as choosing an EPL side or any other side from an overseas league. the only way to get a team is to CHOOSE ONE! you can choose sides from having players that you love to watch, or a family member follows them, or in my case the first team that I saw win an NFL game was the Arizona Cardinals.

There are always reasons why you support different clubs. I support the Knicks because I went to New York last year and didn't have a set team.

Now SA, if you can tell me all the clubs you support are because you have connections to each club, then I will delete my post!!

Very true THB, I only started supporting the Patriots because Peter Griffin played for them in an episode of Family Guy. Once you get past that though and you actually start following them, it doesn't matter why or how you started.

You gotta remember that for example if you live in cleveland, your born into wearing THIER colors and going for them.

If you o for San Antonio instead. Yo will be stabbed.

Beauty of being Australian. I copped shit from day one for hooding the eagles as my team. Picked on and ridiculed for years. But I'm still here, livin in Geelong now for my 26th year and have yet to be stabbed.****

**** please let this remain :D

 What if you have a soft-spot for them because the city has your name in it???? :(

I meant in the context of living in Cleveland oing for San Antonio. You will be stabbed.

Not my opinion that it you go for San Antonio you should be stabbed, as you probably miss took for.

**** do not condone stabbing, it's a sick thing to do, but in reality these are lengths that they are fanatical in these places.

Oh and FTR, THE ADMIRAL ROCKED THE 90's

Seeing as both were shite.
I'm supposing you're the kind of person who enjoys How I Met Your Mother, Scrubs, The Big Bang Theory, and the sexist and disgusting Two and A Half Men?

Then again, you are English.

Well every supporter has a connection with a club. That's why you support them. You feel a connection through your support.

Though my father was a Fremantle supporter. He was born in and lived almost all of his life in Fremantle. If you want to be pedantic, Freo is my closest AFL club. If blood relations and geography isn't enough of a connection, then I am sorry.

I do not know why I chose Arsenal. I was around 7 or 8.

Nonetheless, you've committed a very obvious fallacy – strawman. You have entirely missed the point of my argument.

You're saying I believe you must have a 'connection' to support a team. Whereas I was implying that many a people around here are fair weather supporters. And I stand by that statement. If you consider changing clubs, I wouldn't call you a true supporter. You're a follower, but not a supporter. My dad chooses a Premier League team each year. Yet he isn't a fanatic of Swansea this year, he merely follows their results.

I think it's lame that people are putting Barcelona in their La Lga supported club. How many La Liga games do people realistically watch a season?

Then again, I absolutely despise Barcelona.

If I was mad it would be at the fact that NY can't hit a shot in the 4th if their life depended on it. :o

Also, lol @ mod double post. :p

Haha, watched the game on league pass, safe to say the Knicks were nothing short of turble!!

On a related note, has anyone else signed up for the free league pass til January 8? I've spent the last 5 hours in front of my laptop. :o

I've just been watching live streams of it when it's not on ESPN, how much does the pass cost?

Ha! Nice one.

Best sitcoms ever? Get Smart and The Office (UK version).

lets get something straight, How I Met Your Mother is without a doubt the greatest television series ever made in the history of television!!

and on another note, the Knicks got destroyed today!! I was like, waaa, the Lakers playing well?

Seinfield, Friends, Roseanne, Everybody Loves Raymond--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> How I Met Your Mother

Shit show is shit.

I loved HIMYM, but the current season is shit and you know it is wrapping up soon because it only has 1.5 seasons left. Also all signs point towards Ted marrying Barney's sister after meeting at Barney + Robin's wedding, so really there isn't much point watching it as religiously as we used to. After I realised this I started watching Community only to find out 3 weeks later that it is being put on hiatus. So I've quit trying to find something new and will spend the rest of my holidays watching every episode of Whose Line is it Anyway? But wait... I've done that already.
