Because you like them?

Different artist, I know, but that should still hold them ahead of other artists.

Can't really compare 70's Floyd with Syd-Floyd from the bits I have heard tbh. Besides a few of the artists on my list are influenced by Syd-Floyd. So.

I doubt I'll consider it better, seeing how I prefer the music rather the lyric in that song.

I don't understand this post.

'I should add that Buckley's live cover of The Smith's I know It's Over is spine-tingling.

There are a few recorded versions, including a medley of it with Hallelujah, but there's a version of it on its own that goes for around 6-7 minutes. It's a song I'd like played at my funeral. No overshareo.

Spikey, download that; I'd be interested to see what a fan of the original thinks of the cover. '

Added the last paragraph as an after thought, so the above wasn't in the quote

Buckley is one of my all time favourites! One of the best live acts going around and most gifted guys ever.

Either you get him of you don't. You must at least listen to him, as Whomb has said, you have to listen to him a few times.

Btw, we have one thing in common now Phone ;):)

I was thinking of In The Aeroplan Over The Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel. Has anyone heard that?

I have. Got a feeling BG would have too. Really lo-fi and you might not like the guy's voice. I like the lo-fi, but this guy is one of the few singers that has a voice I don't like. And I'm a guy who thinks Dylan has one of the best voices ever. There's a couple of brilliant songs on it, (Holland 1945 and In the Aeroplane over the Sea) but I've never given it the repeat listens it probably needs.

^ Heard of, but never heard. Will check it out.

Thought so.

Try Capture/Release or Ten New Messages by The Rakes.

RIG I don't know what you already listen to, so you may already listen to some of this. But if you try and like The Rakes, then you have to listen to Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights, Editors - An End Has A Start, or White Lies - To Lose My Life. Post-punk revival ftw.

Of course then you have to listen to post-punk. Joy Division are requisite, but probably would have to recommend compilation Substance to start with. And Gang of Four - Entertainment! Hmmm and The Cure - Disintegration, though not entirely post-punk, but something you should listen to anyway. In fact try that before anything else I've recommended.

An album I've had on high rotation lately is The Doors self-titled album.

I really love the 'Holland, 1945' song.

I mostly listen to Hip Hop/Trance, House, Gabber but I have an open mind, mostly.

phoney made a mixtape for you guys cause he loves/doesn't hate you

1. Big Star - Thank You Friends
2. Velvet Underground - Stephanie Says
3. The Clean - Tally Ho!
4. Soft Boys - Queen Of Eyes
5. Violet Femmes - Blister in the Sun

That tracklisting goes in order of my favourite to least favourite. Really only put Blister in the Sun in there 'cause you've probably all heard it on ads/in movies but didn't know what it was called. Well aware none of you will download it/like it but i was bored.
