Trotsky's most important role over 1917 to 1921 or so was his role as Commander in the Civil War, tbh, however upon re-reading my introduction I probably haven't gone in enough depth about the revoultion itself.

Thats what I just said? I havn't done this in a year, so I'm a bit rusty. But the pivotal point of the revolution was Trotsky learning from the failed (Edit. July Days is what I was looking for..) revolution, and then applying the things he learnt in the later one. Seizing important places etc etc can't really remember...Without that it would have failed. IIRC anyway...
