My first job was at a Coles Deli, on my very first shift, I cut my finger pretty deep. Didn't hurt too much, and given I had an operation under anesthetic when I was like 14 to stop me having 2-4 blood noses a day, I clearly have no issue with blood. But for some reason, when I went out back to the Fresh Produce dept to put a bandaid on it, when I put pressure on it, I passed out face first into the concrete. Broke one of my front teeth in half, along with two bottom teeth, and split my head open above my eye which you can still see the scar from.

Rollerblading accident when I was 13. Was a game at Rollerama - you had cups in the middle that you had to pick up. But it was like musical chairs, and if you didn't have a cup when it was over you were out. As I was picking up the cup, another kid kicked my blade out, and I fell straight onto the two teeth.

Brutal.

I smashed my front teeth diving into what I thought was a swimming pool; in actual fact it was a coffee table. Until a minute ago I assumed I was sleepwalking, but apparently acting out your dreams is a different condition- it's called "RBD" (REM behaviour disorder). Thanks google!

The only other time I recall this happening was in a dingy overseas hotel. I went through my friend's luggage and was rummaging around opening doors and cupboards and things like that. I woke up next to a large open window; there was no balcony or railing, it was literally just a straight drop to the footpath 30 odd floors below. If I'd stumbled or tripped or lost my footing while I was walking around asleep I'd have been spaghetti.

Quite glad I'm not, all things considered.

I once lived in this really crappy bedsit in Bayswater in London. I loved being in London but the bedsit was just dreadful. It was on a main road directly above a dodgy but cheap Indian (good and bad) and an Oddbins (excellent). But right next door through the crappy thin walls was a dental surgery. I could actually hear the drills unless I played the radio constantly. My molars hurt just from the sound.

I have no idea where I'm heading with this. I think I want to say don't rent a bedsit next to a dentist.

I was pondering this while rabbiting on about acting out my dreams. Sometimes I wonder: "did I actually die in that hotel room, and is this just my consciousness imagining the rest of my life?", but thought that was a little too deep for a football forum.

So, moving on. I have an egregious head cold... can anyone recommend a cold remedy that works, or a film/documentary/series that I can waste my weekend on?

Happy Valley is just about the best written drama I have seen in years - very intense. Exceptional. I think Stan might have it? Dunno about the others.

Or as an alternative, I've been binging on loose kind of 'collected works'. I've watched about 6 Woody Allen movies in the past fortnight. I'd forgotten just how brilliant his best work is. Plus the quality of the casts he has pulled together.

It's a revelation. I saw some of these as a kid but watching them again is incredible. I've watched my way through Annie Hall, Hannah and her Sisters, Manhatten Murder Mystery, Manhatten, Radio Days, Crimes and Misdemeanors and Bullets over Broadway. Every one is a gem. The scripts and the strength of the ensemble casts are impeccable.

Exceptional idea.

I've been prepping for a proper Woody Allen bender on and off for a while; I still haven't seen Annie or that depressing one with Cate Blanchett and decided to put all his post-2011 films on hold until I'd seen his earliest works.

Went into the jeans shop and asked for 501's a couple of years ago to find out the staff member had never heard of them. True story.

Yeah, I still have a couple of tshirts and jumpers from the mid 90s when I was about year 9. Also have a woolen Dees guernsey from around the same period (still fits).

Just back from Killswitch Engage - great show. Live music is the best and something I need to get to way more often. I don't think I got to any shows last year, have been to three this year and hopefully plenty more. Unfortunately, fundage is always the limiting factor.
