End of '08 would have been perfect timing.

He could have scored those 48 goals, taken those 155 marks, and got those 11 Brownlow votes for some other team. Meanwhile we would get an 18 year old who would be coming into his prime for our finals campaigns in 2012 - 2015.
Would be 25-26 now . That would be handy

Kos was all heart, 200 gamer for our great club.
Might not have been the most talented player we had but he played his part.

Broke bones and spilt blood for the club, done much more than some of the armchair athletes around this place.
Kosi was ridiculously talented, injuries just screwed him up big time

Im the most real of supporters who have an opinion that just because he wore a saints jumper that doesn't automatically make him this hero . If he didn't have that 4 game stretch that one time there would be nothing of note to him at all . That is all

The problem is you said he makes you sick. He didn't draft himself. He gave everything to the club and deserves credit for that. It's easy to abuse but it's also weak

Kosi makes me sick . What a list clogger he was . Had he been traded when he had value in 2007 or 08 we could have got a player who actually contributed more than being tall

So you are suggesting that our inability to get a better option than Kosi was actually caused by Kosi himself?

250 players have kicked more goals than Kosi.
Approximately 10 800 before him did not kick more goals.

Hey maybe we could have traded Lenny Hayes and got Garry Ablett?
Maybe we could have traded Max Hudghton and got Brian Lake?

Kosi used to frustrate the crap out of me , but i don't see how you can blame him for our recruiters failures.
Seriously moronic post.
Dumb people think that removing player X from team will make it stronger.
In actual fact you need to a) bring in player Y and b) have player Y better than player X.

Not sure the Cats or Dogs had a key forward better than Kosi back then. Cloke was in career best form and Dawes had a freak patch in 2010/2011 but Kosi would still sit top 4 or 5 in terms of impact in those years.

If we traded him at the end of 07 we could have drafted talls like -

Tony Notte, Tayte Pears, Sam Reid, Scott Thompson (NM) or Dawson Simpson.

In the 2008 draft we might have snagged - Ayce Cordy, Mitch Brown (Geel/Ess), Ryan Shoenmakers, Jackson Trengove or Shaun McKernan.

Hardly the "who's who" of AFL key forwards in that bunch!

Kosi was talented, his issue was that Giansiacusa broke his skull, and since then he was never the same. Kosi otherwise showed more than say Kurt Tippet has.

Xavier Clarke was similar, immensely talented, but his body could not stand up to the rigors of AFL football, and so he played safe, he played within himself because when he pushed, his body pushed back and something went twang.

Goose was our CHB, he was our rock, he was a damned fine backman with a 70m boot to roost it with interest and precision; then he breaks his leg in a way akin to a car crash, has nerve issues in said leg, gets chunks taken out of it to fix it and never really reached the stability and heights that he was headed for.

You can sit there in hindsight and say that they didn't reach heights and the right call was made on them, they're maligned or etc, but these blokes literally bled for the club and otherwise negatively impacted their well being to make us as great as we could be at the time, show some damned respect.

True. We hardly had a style conducive to forwards kicking big bags (absent a smashing!).

It started before the bump for Kosi... when GT made him play despite him having back problems. If I recall, Kosi's folks were less than impressed.

Ironically in 04 / 05 if Kosi played we were a chance at a flag, such was his potential.

Non-achievers always gonna hate.

More then happy that he spent 10 + years at the Saints, the guy gave everything he had every time he played

Well said.

Really need to question the de-listing of Maguire. Maguire played 7 seasons for StKilda (99 games ) he went on to play 6 seasons ( 71 games ) with the Lions.
We got nothing for him.
Yeah we had a stronger team than Brisbane, but i seem to recall Tom Simpkin, and James Gwilt having to line up on some monsters, and i really really don't think our backline depth was that strong ( still not until Carlisle rejoins the squad ).

Yeah, I think it was more on compassionate grounds. He was delisted to allow him to have an easier path to another club. I think he was pretty messed up emotionally by the ongoing injuries at St Kilda, and needed a fresh start.

Just a pity we couldn't have snuck him in for that 100th game :(

Even after reading about what that is I have no idea what it does or why I want it Perse? It seems to convert your operating system into something more primitive so makes the computer run faster?

I didn't click on it, just assumed it was a click trap. Perse trying to send through virus pr0n?

Lol, it's an alternative operating system for your computer, based on Linux. It's extremely user friendly, very fast even on old or low-powered computers, and comes with lots of great software installed or ready to download, all for free. :)

****en hawthorn! Almost the exact same story as last week. Either us and adelaide ran out of legs against them or both teams shit themselves having a lead in the final ten minutes. But the reason the hawks are so good is that they NEVER stop playing their brand of footy, whether they are 100 points up or 100 points down, they will always play their brand.

i'll have to VM it and give it a quick look
The key highlights are:
  1. Really helpful Welcome screen, with step-by-step processes for drivers, applications, and support.
  2. The Software Boutique, which is just about the best app store you could find: it has only the best things in it (you can also download other app install programs like Synaptic) tailored to make it easy. It also includes a lot of really important apps that are usually NOT in Linux repositories (Chrome, Skype, etc) that you usually have to install via the web. It also sets them up to be updated regularly.
  3. The Ubuntu MATE Tweak app allows you to set up your desktop to LOOK just like a traditional Apple ("Cupertino"), Windows ("Redmond") or Ubuntu Unity ("Mutiny") set up.
  4. Synapse searcher straight from the install, easily the best searcher you could wish for.
A couple of cool videos on it when it was in Beta:

This guy does an AWESOME summary (little longer, but worth it):
