Apparently a 1 year old has passed away in Kyneton after being left alone in a car.

What the **** is wrong with people!?!?!

Find the person responsible, lock them up and throw the keys away. Zero tolerance.

Hard to believe in this day and age that it still happens.

Don't agree with locking them up though. That parent will go through hell already, they'll be punished enough (as they should be).

They'll be punished enough? Sorry, that's complete garbage.

IMO this should clearly be classified as manslaughter. If it were up to me I'd classify it as murder, but that's extreme.

There is no justification for this whatsoever. Lock the person up - I think the maximum penalty is 20 years in Victoria.

What does that solve? You reckon this person is likely to do it again? Incredibly doubtful.

They've just killed their kid. That's a far worse punishment than any prison will provide.

If they are stupid enough to do it once, yes I reckon there's every chance they are stupid enough to do it again.

People who do this do not deserve to have children. There is no greater display of parental incompetence than leaving your child in the car.

Even worse in the heat where temperatures can reach up to 65deg

Children should NEVER be left alone in cars under any circumstance!

Incredibly unlikely someone would be this stupid twice. Incredibly unlikely.

Don't get me wrong, what they did is disgusting. I just don't see the point of locking them away for 20 years.

They need to send a strong message as a deterrent to others. This is heartbreaking. There's never a reason to leave a child in a car, never.
You are exactly right.

This is criminal behaviour. Criminals are not just punished to ensure they do not re-commit, but also as a deterrent to others to ensure the criminal act does not happen again.

There are zero excuses and there should be zero leniency shown. As you said, this is heartbreaking......and completely avoidable.

With all due respect, if you're ******* stupid enough to lock your kid in a car, I doubt you're going to think about what happened to the last idiot that did it.

Anyway, I'll leave it alone there.

It wouldn't bother me with those shows and Reno shows if they put really good people on them.

Know a couple people that were turned away from mkr and masterchef for being too good. They want mistakes coz it's good for TV.

Yep.

They also want specific types of people. The good guys, the bad guys, the ones who stuff up but still get through. It's not a competition at all, it's a drama.
