Thanks C2K - I hope it stays that way. Maybe I’m comparing myself too much to Thylacine60 - the Master of Minimalism! Thy reminds me of a cricketer who keeps the scoreboard ticking over with cheeky singles that drive the fielding team mad. Other racially-neutral batspeople (trying to deny you the quick single there Thy :p) come and go, attempting all sorts of extravagant shots, but by the end of the innings Thy is the one left standing, with a ton (or 81,000+ posts) to their name (please note my grammatically incorrect but gender neutral language, which is designed to deny Thy yet another quick single :thumbsu:).

Was still part of something bigger, although not many remember him.

Most only remember Richards, Lloyd, Haynes, Greenidge, Richardson, Marshall, Walsh, Dujon, Logie, Garner, Holding. People even remember the professional 12th man who never left the field - Roger Harper. About the only bloke who could field properly.

Those names still give me nightmares..
Gomes was a tough little bugga..
Hard to get his wicket on any given day..

It was some sort of team, probably didn't appreciate how elite they were at the time. Could take on a rest of the world side and be confident of winning.

Imagine how good they would be with modern training, fitness and coaching.

Not true, number of awesome fielders.
Lloyd was called "supercat" for his work in the covers as a younger player.

Windies couldn't field properly??? How many Aussies were run out in the 75 world cup.- 5. All the batsmen could field and Garner was awesome in gully.

The batsmen dismissed to give D K Lillee the then wicket taking record (caught in the slips by one G. Chappell).

And Malcolm Marshall had a bullet like arm. His throws from the boundary were hard & flat. Dujon's hands would have copped a battering (on top of that already being suffered from wicketkeeping to 4 extremely fast bowlers).

he'd make 70 across 5 sessions - 63 of them nudges off the hip down to fine leg for singles - we could not get him out..............

My son turns 30 today and my wife double that on Sunday. Arrangements made for both.

Mrs Robbo has allowed us a break from celebrations so we can watch the footy on Sunday.

She’s all class Mrs Robbo and that’s why I married her.:kissingheart:

Hey thylacine60 - gotta share this for it's utter epic-ness.

To briefly set the scene: The San Jose Sharks and Vegas Golden Knights play in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs (best of seven games to advance to the next round). Vegas, who has probably the best goalie in the league, led the series 3-1. San Jose won the fifth game in double overtime and managed to claw back to 3-3 to force this decider.

Playing at home, the Sharks are down 3-0 in the final game. It ain't looking good.

Then, halfway through the final period, all hell breaks loose.

FYI, a major penalty is a rarity and happens generally when a player is seriously hurt and bloodied. Instead of a 2 minute penalty (where that team only has 4 players on the ice) which ends if the other team scores, it's a 5 minute penalty that isn't affected by goals...

43 Saves is a huge effort. lucky to win with 10 less shots at the net!

**** the Golden Knights. So glad the Sharks got it done after my team pretty much choked this year.

Brian Taylor's pathetic response to the Orazio Fantasia controversy needs be to called out more by the main stream media.

Fair enough if he didn't know the correct pronounciation, but his bogan, if not racist and redneck justification in pretty much dismissing Fantasia's family and racial background, and his "we prounce it in Strayaian lingo" is crap.

Even though Rex Hunt was somewhat of a bigot, he had the charm to get away with off his sometimes bad taste comments, and apologize when he made a blue, BT is just dumb as Dog Doo.

It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so ****ing what."

It's actually rather common these days to hear a comedian attempt social commentary as though they're an expert. I enjoy Steven Fry's content, and I certainly believe that comedy - like all art - should be allowed to stretch and even break some of the boundaries, but beyond a certain point you're not being risque, you're being a dick.
