Analysis Random NORTH thoughts not worthy of a thread

What North does not have is someone who can delivery to forwards like Boomer, and can communicate/talk to others on-field like Boomer, Boomer would have still been valuable this year....if only Brad could think smarter, pity there is no way of bring Boomer back for rest of year to give current group more confidence & guidance.

Having Boomer back wouldn't be the panacea to our problems.

In fact it would be almost the very definition of papering over the cracks.

I also think that if we went down a path of keeping Boomer we in all likelihood retain 1 maybe 2 of the other 3 that we cut. That creates more issues not less for us as we merely push out the inevitable cut and subsequent dip (although it's not like we weren't dipping already).

Getting rid of Boomer didn't happen in a vacuum, had we retained him that wouldn't have happened in one either.

But this line of thinking is tired and tiring. He's gone, he no longer plays for us. You can woulda coulda shoulda all you like, he ain't ever pulling the jumper on again.

If we're gonna discuss him we may as well discuss what it would be like if we had Dench kicking it to Pickett, who moves it to Grieg, who delivers it to Carey who has Krakouer at his feet to rove it.

The whole 4 were covering cracks...its was over Moby.

I think we should have an AFL dedicated round to bring attention to the derision and stereotyping directed towards accountants and clerical workers of all types.
Public service round.

Most of the players run on to the ground just as the siren sounds, although some have arranged to come on halfway through the first quarter. Players have an eye on the clock and start heading towards the huddle with two minutes to go and start sauntering back when the siren starts the second quarter. Although sone have to be retrieved from the food and beverage outlets after their colleagues complain about too much work.

There are no problems with congestion around the ball as all players strictly work to rule. The rucks ruck, wings stay on the wing and the full forward never leaves the goal square. Indeed on some occasions the ball will lay untouched for five minutes as everyone argues about it being someone else's responsibility to do something about it. Games are usually played man on man - sorry, person on person - but with few contests. Causing offence to anyone is not considered appropriate.

At the end of the game, there are often only 14 or 15 players from each side on the ground as the others left early because they played after the final siren last week.

And no matter how much the league offers to increase the wages of players, it's never enough. But they do get assuaged by other benefits, such as being able to miss the last couple of weeks of the season because the club hasn't fully utilised its player self-education budget.

How does that differ from the current approach?

Tef, mate, when did you become a Champion Data believer?
So this champion data says

- our best defenders (Thommo;Taz) are basically equivalent to Melican from the Swans and Tom Barrass;
- our best forward (BBB) is around the value of Sam Reid;
- our mids don't register at all;
- Goldie is the equivalent of Cam Pederson.

On the positive side At's is now a recognised forward!

I wonder how much clubs look at this - would be a disaster if this is used to value trades.

On the mids - how far down are Cunners and JZ?

Could we make this art our next indigenous guernsey?

How about not?

We've had a couple of good designs that we've changed each year.

Just leave the damn thing alone.

Rather than having any credibility of mystique about it, it just turns into yet another money-making exercise selling the 'new' jumper each year.

Fun Facts:

Todd Goldstein is our equal 2nd most prolific goal kicking mid so far this year with 10.

Clubhouse leader is Higgins with 14.

Other notables; Atley 10, Cunnington 7, Ziebell 6, McDonald 6, Dumont 6, Daw 4, Preuss 3, Gibson 3.

Sad reading.
