Thanks. I think because it was a best of The Specials, the comp does not recognise the later incarnation.

Sandanista. When it came on, I thought it was Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros but when I checked, it was The Clash. Some great stuff on Sandanista even if it is not on the whole a great album. It showed which direction Joe Strummer was heading at least. RIP.

You must have the same Specials comp as I do. On the CD it recognises the difference but itunes lumps them all together.

I really must get a hold of Sandanista and listen to it again as an adult. I bought it on vinyl when it came out listened to it once and gave it away. Some people, whose opinion I value when it comes to music, say that it was the right album, just at the wrong time. Wrong time for the Clash and the wrong time for the music world in general. Heading into Red Eye Records for a bit of a shop today so I might just grab it...

Love Joe Strummer RIP.

I listen to Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros more than I listen to The Clash nowadays. I have not settled into middle age quite yet, but I find it really interesting music. This is in no way dissing The Clash who are one of the great bands !!!!
