My thoughts on Gary - the man - are the following:
#1. Incredible respect for a true professional. The guy is really a stand-up guy. It's a shame things aren't working out. He really doesn't deserve this type of stress. Thank god the club is being honorable about everything.
My thoughts on Gary - the coach:
#1. He needs to go because I don't believe he's got the necessary tactical ability to get us to the top. For evidence of that, look at last year's Collingwood game where we refused to flood even though there was only 1 minute left in the game and subsequently lost the game due to Tarrant's goal. Another highly publicized incident was last year's Ian-Perrie-on-Lynch fiasco. These are coaching errors which cost us games, plain and simple. I really believe he could be a top coach one day but perhaps needs the time away in the media watching others to see what works and what doesn't, a la Blight.
#2. IMHO, this is the most important factor. He needs to go because he seems to have lost the players. They are not playing inspired ball and when that happens there is no way of getting them back, except with a different voice.
Other random thoughts:
1. Skipworth can play. The guy gets a shellacking on this board, but everytime I see him in a game he is doing well. Reminds me a little bit of T. Edwards. Give him more game time and lets see what happens.
2. I really hope Rutten is playing at FF against the Dogs. No matter what anybody else says on this board, the Rutten gets results. He scores goals, period. Isn't that what we want in a FF
