Obviously I wouldn’t wish it on anyone but the experiences my two younger brothers and I shared with other similarly displaced kids was quite unique.
We were probably very lucky to have had stable Primary years where we learned good from bad etc while some of the other kids weren’t so lucky.
Bros and I got into lots of mischief but nothing serious and, as young working adults, managed to build relatively normal lives, albeit lacking many life skills others take for granted.
Funking fantastic mate. And good for you and your family.

Im on the Murray after the floods and apart from around Boxing day they haven't been too bad
I used to get attacked as a kid and come up in great big welts. As age catches up to me and cholesterol levels increase (whoops) they don't bite anymore. Clearly mosquitos are very health conscious.

Men's tennis has become unwatchable and will remain so until Djokovic and Nadal retire. Any sport is only as good as its competitive aspect. And there is no competition aspect with them. It's just them winning trophies over whoever they play. So greats of the sport or not, can they **** off now
I hate this p rick

The women's final was something special this year.

But in regards to the men's

Alcaraz won last year's us open and was the world number 1 at only 18, his going to be a generational player (and was a shame he was injured).

Holger Rune will be the other generational junior, his for through the Paris Masters was sensational (Beat Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Djokovic and Alcaraz all in a row), probably should have beaten Rublev, but was playing injured and still was up in the 5th set, next year will be his year when stronger (still only 19)

Nadal's body has finally caught up with him I think.

Whilst I strongly dislike Djokovic, I have to admit his tennis is truly insane to watch, the accuracy on his shots combined with his flexibility/ core is truly terrifying.

All three of the greats were wonderful to watch for different reasons.

Federer - Pure sublime technique, was like watching a piece of art (out of the three easily the funnest to watch).
Nadal - Easily the least talented of the three, got to where he is by hard work (love the fact he was rejected by the Spanish tennis Federation as a kid, went to his uncle, switched hands (plays left handed even though his right handed to make a difference) and proved them all wrong.
Djokovic - Pure mentality, core and flexibility.

I do sometimes wonder what would have happened if Federer had taken his career more seriously as a junior, he probably would have another 3 or 4 slams to his name (similar to what would have happened with Hewitt of Federer never arrived on the scene I guess 😂)

scaryness just want to say, love the avatar

I just recently finished the show and read all the manga and I love the series now. Probs will be close to another 18 months before either a season 2 or a new published manga release now though.

My respect for Makima is no longer what it was when I made the avatar though

That character arc you are referring to is disturbingly wonderfully horribly wrong.

Yep. I knew she was Machiavellian so I never really 'liked' her character but I liked her as an interesting lawful evil for the story. Then it just goes so far that it's just not enjoyable at all lol.

bang!

Women's tennis has long been the more enjoyable of the two, even when every tournament was basically just a case of "Serena or someone catching her on an off day."

You cite the young ones coming through - Alcaraz and Rune - who are supposedly the next generation. But before them it was Zverev, Thiem, Tsitsipas, Medvedev... all were going to be the next generation but are now mid-career and aside from the major title here and there, still look wildly inferior to Nadal and Djokovic.

Even women's tennis, I talk that up for producing more interesting results than the men's game, but where's the next generation there? Osaka is in no man's land (obviously not criticising her, she's been rightfully prioritising her wellbeing), and Barty retired by mid-career. The generation before them who were supposed to take over from Serena - Muguruza, Pliskova, Halep - are all over the place.

I'm obviously not expecting players like Serena, Federer, Nadal and Djokovic to come around very often, if ever. But forget about anyone getting at their level. Is the sport even capable of producing great champions anymore? Like if not Serena's level, maybe Venus or Henin's level? Or if not Djokovic and Nadal's level, maybe Agassi or McEnroe's level?

Hell, at this point I'd take a Roddick-style perennial bridesmaid, just for the consistency!

Hi Ticky,

This is Caesar's fiancée. Caesar says he's doing just fine and he's thankful he wasn't exposed to the capsule. He tried to type a reply to you but his fingers were too tingly to type, plus he's been battling fatigue, fever, nausea and diarrhea lately, as well as losing some of his hair, so he asked me to type this for you.

Crisis averted thank God!

I thought we'd get another War and Peace

Probably still the after-effects of the Swans win over there last year.
