Can anyone honestly think of a better album than this?

It might be the best in the Albini canon.

It's great, and "Budd" is a monster, but suggestions it's better than Atomizer or 1000 Hurts are a bit much.

Mind you, those records are fresh in my mind at Two Nuns isn't. Maybe it's time for a relisten.

Yeah agreed, 'Atomiser' is tough to beat. I didn't like 'Excellent Italian Greyhound' all that much, but '1000 Hurts' was dope (especially 'Watch Song' - that song gets better every time I blast it)

Rapeman IMO are probably the only band I like where I find all their releases are top-shelf. Not a dud song on them

Interesting... Big Black are my favorite all time band but for some reason I hardly listen to Two Nuns nowadays, so Atomizer wins hands down for me.

Would it be fair to suggest that Rapeman gave birth to Math Rock of which I'm not a massive fan?

No shit? Cool. Well I apologise for any stupid online friction between us. Big Black's music has got me through a lot of hard times, especially a lot of the lyrics on 'Atomiser'

They probably would be an influence on math rock, which is a genre I dont know a lot about anyway - I always think of bands like Drive Like Jehu and maybe Slint or even The Minutemen..?

Hehe no offense was ever taken, thats why I was trying to tell you you aren't the only one who listens to decent music, I'm also a huge Swans fan ;)

Yeah the ones you mention fit the bill especially Slint, I also consider stuff like Fugazi, Shellac, Dismemberment Plan, My Disco as math rock. It isn't too bad I guess but too much of a stop/start stuff for me. I'm more into more rythmik and noisier stuff.
