Was very good today. Since returning to the side, he has been quite solid. Produces a lot less turnovers since returning from his VFL stint. Was excellent today, hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

Could be the new Goddard. Took several years at AFL level before finally taking the next step up.

Bit strong, his reading of the play has definitely improved, but still fumbles a bit and passes too high.

I'd rate him a fair-good

Raph has arrived.

So much time and composure. And some great dash from defence. play tall or small.

#16 I'll be getting on my back for next season.

This is where people like myself who have supported him come out and say we were right.

Next week he has a shocker and his critics have a field day.

etc, etc, etc

Has played a few good games in a row. Although the previous two were not as good as today, they were not absolute shockers. Derserved to be picked today on prior form.

Raph is a confidence player. At the start of the game he always shanks passes and makes bad decisions but if he does a few goods things then he (sometimes) is able to get his confidence up and start playing well.

Goddard used to say that he thought too hard when he played and that now he just plays on his instinct. I think this is what is wrong with Raph, he tries to concentrate too hard and makes sloppy decisions because of it. He constantly doubts himself.

Just get some confidence in him and a little less thinking and he'll be slightly worse version of Goddard (but still a gun).

Raph was phantastic today !

No mistakes, accurate passes, calm under pressure, smart decisions, amazing run from defence in the fourth quarter when Essendon threatened to ruin the night... (despite being played out of position once Dempster left the game - assuming that half forward is where he's best).

Don't take that away from him ! I expect nothing less than a VG or even an EX in Kildonan's list on monday.

Raph was great today and last week seems to have gathered composure when he has his mits on the pill. Will be in important player if Dempsters injury is bad. Good on raph played with him the year he got drafted always though he would be a gun now proving he can play with the big boys

Hope he makes it as a player. Looked gone for all money at the start of the year but has fought his way back, well done.

3 very solid games in a row - great to see.

Taken him 8 years to get to 38 games but i really hope he can deliver.

He has the right attributes.

Could be the new Goddard.

:D Chris, you've been in good touch of late but he's not in the same suburb as BJ who is getting scary (as to how good he is). BJ's just pulling into his Toorak driveway now, and Raph still in gridlock just entering Pakenham.

But well done to Raph who was pretty solid in a dominant team performance.

Keep this thread open for after the Geelong game.;)

IIRC, Raph had a more than handy performance in the Harvey Game (QF2005@Adel)?

He was first rate today. With Seany out, back six looks to be Max, S Fisher, Gilbert, Blake, R Clarke and one other.

arrived at a new club.. no not yet, we still have him.

i mean seriously the guy played well in a completly one sided match, who didnt! has he arrived haha

Look i've been a huge critic of Raph Clarke and I'm not nearly convinced. He's had a couple of good games but i'll need to see how he comes up against the very best before i can make a call. This week against Geelong will show how good a player he is under pressure

He's just cottoned onto the new bypass!

I was wondering where the improvement had come from. Now if he can just work out those darn e-tags ....

Just gotta add his rego and he'll be fine. You'll agree his new motor was beautiful in that last quarter yesterday!

That's it!!!

He's been driving without number plates for a while, and started to wonder why everyone was looking at him funny.

The Leyland P76 wasn't going that well, but it did have alot of capacity which wasn't being used.

Gone for the WRX which slashes thru traffic, but always looks like it will come a cropper. Very capable though when at top end speed.

He looked more confident running up the middle of the ground didnt panic has much went first option not 3rd option which usually gets him in trouble well done raph keep going

Just needs to get it lowered and the chicks will dig it!
