You talk shit HMC. Your a Raph Clarke sympathiser.

You say he played better than, Gilbert and Fisher and Goddard and Dawson.

That is such a disrespect to those guys, to those warriors. I cant believe you think like that.

I really hope for my sake and your sake and for the sake of the STKILDA football club that he doesnt cost us a premiership with his indecision and turn over.

why is that disrespect at all? cant raph have a better game than those blokes who also played well? are u that 1 eyed with ur decision on raph no wonder u think hes no good as ur decision is made up on his game before the ball is bounced.. if u look at the stats raph had less clangers than most of our players also more tackles and rebound 50s.. also u say these horrific mistakes what about when dawson missed the ball when he tried to hit it in our direction or when dal santo kicked straight to 3 bulldogs from the kickout, or when roo missed from 35m directly in front, did u have a memory fade? all players make mistakes and non of raphs cost us a goal however he was a crucial element in us winning through to the gf on friday :)

goddard gilbert and so on many of them probabally are better players but not this week

go saints - time to make history

Enough of this bullshit.

Compare Raph with Dawson in relation to positional pressure. Zac is constantly under media pressure from every where. Everyone was saying that he should go out for Hudgton all week leading up to the prelim. Zac steps up and plays the game of his life, he was amazing. I wish I could say the same thing about Raph.

Raph wasnt bad, infact he was good for his standards. His standards! But theres alot of you raph sympathisers that get confused between his standards for a good game and team standards.
You see if he gets the ball and doesnt make a clanger, you think super raph. As a backline they have set a tottally differnt standard of football.

seriously seek help.

you have a hard ass coach who thinks little of dropping scared cows and yet he continues to play a player you think would struggle to shine in country u16s.

Why do you think that is? I'm genuinely interested

I just dont like people specifically making cases for Raph Clarke. You mentioned that he was brilliant. Was he more brilliant than say Dawson? how would you rate his game compared to our other defenders. Or how do you rate brilliance?

Do a search of threads on Raph Clarke and you'll understand why there is a thread on him playing well. If he hadn't been bagged 8,765,432 times in the past four years, there wouldn't be a specific thread on him.

And, yes, he was better than Goddard. Goddard had a stinker in the first half, I thought.
And, yes, he made some clangers, particularly that kick to no one in the forward line in Q4

Still have my heart in my mouth every time Raph gets the ball, and he is still prone to the odd bad clanger, but he gives us run & carry and those X-factor indigenous skills that no one else can.

He certainly did enough in the prelim to keep his spot. He seems to be improving with each game too, so hopefully its more of the good Raph than bad Raph that turns up in the GF.

Yes, I do like Raph Clarke.

He plays for the team that I love.

If that's talking shit in your eyes, I really can't help you.

You say he played better than, Gilbert and Fisher and Goddard and Dawson.

I really don't think that you're the one who should talk about disrespect (which would require respect).

I don't even want to know why you hate (and as such disrespect) Raph Clarke so much.

And that was the last time I will read any of your posts or respond to you.

Were u at the game lol horrific errors? did he cost u 1 goal?? all i saw was run out of defence, effort after effort and spoils.... horrific errors no! he had a couple clangers but so did dal santo do u call them horrific ?

Also are u even a saints supporter MODRA??? are u an adelaide rat in hiding?

yes i was ace man, second level row 7 of the ponsford stand

how the **** can you say he didnt have any horrific errors... what about when he walked straight into a bulldog tackle without even attempting to get rid of the ball, just extreme lack of awareness... what about the multiple missed targets and constantly putting OUR players under pressure when he disposes to them

in the last quarter when one of our players had the ball in the back pocket they looked to run it inside the middle and handball to raph... as the player looks to handball he realises raph is not even looking at the ball, nor doing anything constructive just merely in his own world

he did do some great spoils and 2nd efforts but how people can say he was one of our best is absolutely beyond me.

clint jones was brilliant in the first half and kept us in the game especially in the first quarter, goddard was solid and hahns goals on him were unavoidable with the delivery (especially the 2nd one), dal, hayes, riewoldt and fisher were very good. how raphs game could be rated near any of thesse players is just beyond me... we need him to lift this week along with gram who had a shocker, schnieder kossy and the tiprat.

Ok, I feel bad that this raph clarke debate has got out of hand and I feel partly responsible.

I want to apologise to Raph and other members that I may have offended. I can see how I over react to his game because i analyse it too much.
The last thing I would want is for Raph or anyone in our team to have a bad game. I want Raph to play great football just like everyone else in the team.

I watched the game on tv again and i realise that he did alot of good things aswell considering how intense it was in our defensive 50.

I apologise to HMC. I love st kilda and all saints supporters and I love this site. It feels so stupid arguing with other saints members after we just made it to the Grand Final. We should be celebrating such a marvalous time for our great great club.

Gwilt is a far better option if fit

If we play Raph we will lose !

You probably saidthis prior to the R14 game, Raph played and we won
One player isnt going to determine the outcome of the game. Get Real!

A number of others also had less influence and made more mistakes and no damning words were written about them.

The reason threads like this exist is because he's our whipping boy, so people are always going to point out what did well.

My issue is that a number of people said Baker was finished and/or shouldn't be getting a game in the 22 and/or should retire (I'd consider that a bit of a whipping too), and have gone quiet after two very sound finals performances.

Dempster would be a better option for you guys this week IMO.

As a neutral observer of your 2 finals to date, the experience Dempster has in finals and grand finals would certainly be better than the panic / lack of composure / skill errors displayed by Clarke (or even Eddy for that matter).

I thought Clarke was going to cost you the game a few times in that last quarter from turnovers and Eddy wasn't sighted for the majority of either match.

Yes I recall those statements earlier on Squizzle.

You can't control anyone, but you know and I know that our side is so much better with the Bakerdog in it.
