Sidebottom I would have as a B+. Not consistent enough to be an A, or an A+

Fasolo is a B-

Macaffer is a B- too, same boat as Sidebottom, too inconsistent for my liking. Probably a bit harsh on him considering his tagging jobs in 2013.

Blair is a B. No way he deserves to be in the same category as Maxwell, Young and Sinclair.

Lots of players being over-rated here... Seedman a B? Common now he has hardly played any consistently good football in his 28 career games. Brodie Grundy the same in his 7 career games. These are players that should be automatically regulated to C- until they prove themselves.

Agreed. Also include Goldsack, Adams (both of them), White, Keeffe, Maxwell, Young and Sinclair as players that are not currently B grade. I would also query if Ball, Sidebottom and Reid are also currently A grade players. Of course a number of these players could improve next season, which will need to happen if we are to make the finals.

The hell you smoking?
All of our players are worth 1st rounders MINIMUM.

Goldsack is a B. So is Keeffe and Sinclair. They are all passable in games, they might not be standout, but they are not a detriment to the side and add something whenever they play. That is B standard.

And Reid is definitely an A grade. Does his job defensively week in week out when at CHB, plus adds strong rebound. Moves forward, will kick at least 2 goals.

Ball's reputation at least gives him an A.

I view an A as being elite, B as a good player and a C as standard. Ball was an A and hopefully will get back there. I stand by the rest.

B for me is average AFL player, ie neither poor nor great.

Even though the Reg "Ninja" Grundy played 7 games they were of at least B grade standard barring the final vs Lobbe. I have no doubt he will be a B grade player at a minimum 2014 on.

I think you have rated them too highly. Fas has yet to show that he can play an unselfish team game (both offensively and defensively) that will be required to keep a spot in our forward line.
Dwyer is a good quality depth player (roster spots 16-25) and won't ever be more than that.
Keefe - I have never had much confidence in his lockdown defensive abilities. He has shown that he has potential, but I always get nervous when he is on a key forward.
Thomas and Seedsman still need to show a lot more consistency but are getting there.

Nathan Brown B

Jamie Elliott B

I would put both as B+. Even when not kicking goals, Elliot was still providing a lot of pressure around the ball - and as the year progressed seemed to be slowly learning to play as the crumber when we've got our bigs in the contest. I feel Elliot is a much better small forward option than Fas.

Taylor Adams B
Jesse White B
(let's wait for them to play for us first)

Nick Maxwell B-
Jarryd Blair B-
Harsh call on both. Especially given the youngsters you rated above them. I clearly disagree with both.

Tony Armstrong C+
Patrick Karnezis C+
Are probably unlikely to play (maybe 1-2 games) this year, so should probably be lower.

Can't really comment on the guys below that.

Depends on how highly you rate a B grader i guess.

For me it is the average afl player, Fas has shown enough although inconsistently to be rated as Ave ditto the others.

For others it is a good player.

You overrate Steele and underrate Beams who is undoubtedly elite/A+. The bloke has averaged over thirty possessions and a goal a game since the end of 2011. On a 'per game' basis he has been our best player over that period and that includes Swan, Pendlebury and Cloke. Had it not been for his injury, Ablett aside, he would be one of the front runners for best in the league over a two season period.

His performances have been nothing short of immense.

A+ would equal the perfect player. Clokes kicking is not that.

Swan A+
Pendlebury A
Beams A
Cloke A
Reid B
Sidebottom B

Then it falls away very badly.

Yet, Cloke ranks 1st in goals per game counting finals. 2nd in the Coleman, not counting finals LOL

Not as badly as your posting falls away.. Seriously Pendles not A+.. when are you going to stop being such an infant

As a teacher, god you guys mark easily. To me C is average (in the literal sense), B is good, A is very good and A+ is excellent.

So essentially, I think the A- guys are really B. The B+ guys are B. The B guys are C and anyone below B is a D or worse.

Having said that, most of the lists are ordered similarly to how I'd order them. The player I'd move down is Ball and I expect that we will be moving Adams up pretty quickly.

I agree re: the marking scheme. Personally just went with what was provided as a guideline. In retrospect it would also have been good to remove any players who are yet to play a game with us, as we can't really provide a subjective view on them within Collingwood as of yet.

But has probably lost us as many games in the past two years than he has won us. So no way he would be an A+

Yes because someone who averages 3 goals a game is OBVIOUSLY the one losing us the game.

Do you actually believe this?
