GWS Goose
Brownlow Medallist
My initial plan was to have the this as part of the Rate the opposition thread, however as Callums_Guns has taken over the running of the thread (something Im quite pleased about),I've decided to give this concept its own thread.
Essentially the logic behind this is to determine who the SFA enjoys posting with most.
This is I guess part of the whole quality v quantity thing, and is an attempt to be another metric to consider when viewing squad strengths and what not. Of course this is
I've put a bit of thought into the best way to do this and landed on having opposing teams rate the thread. It takes two to tango and threads should work as a back and forth and both teams are responsible for the thread quality.
Ill be asking all SFA participants to rate the quality of the thread with a score out of 5. Just enter the 2 teams playing and a score. I would ask for a quick description of the thread and the rational / the thought process behind the rating.
To aim for consistency Id like to provide the following guidelines.
The aim is to distribute the scores in the standard bell curve. This means most threads are average. Just like real life.
As a rough guide
1. For truly horrendous threads that fall into the worse 10%
2. Below average threads that fall between 10-30 percentile
3. Average threads that fall between 30-70 percentile
4. Above Average threads that fall between the 70-90 percentile
5. Outstanding threads that are in the top 10% of all threads
Over the course of the year you'd probably have 1 or 2 matches where you give a rating of 1 or 5, about double that for 2's and 4's and the rest would sit in the middle.
Ill make a comparison to how each club scores there own threads compared to how the opposition rates it, and look to each sides average thread rating to see if there are any patterns or outliers. Will be interesting if there is a significant difference.
As usual being a Goose thread, it is likely the production quality will low, spelling and grammar poor, but hopefully the information interesting.
I hope like last year with the rating thread we get buy in from the SFA community.
