Morton is the ideal Johnstone replacement. Grimes is another Brock mcLean and Maric will be a cult figure.

Can't really comment on Cheney and McNamara at this stage.

Getting Grimes at 14 will more than sooth any wounds left by the Johnstone trade.

Maric is a gun but a big full back would have made the draft awesome, and Rance was nearly sliding all the way to 21, although unfortunately for him he now plays for Richmond so will probably end up no good, or their only decent player.

From the Age this morning. Sounds pretty good.

The Demons perhaps had the best draft of all. In Morton and Grimes they have two 10-year players with skill, poise and presence. Grimes hasn't got the speed Morton has, but is a leader in the making. Maric is the best kick in the draft. Cheney is tough as nails and McNamara on his athleticism alone was worth the punt.

Hopefully, thats what im hearing as well. he is a didak - johnson type was the report on sen. They even clear out the 50 for him on occasions in the u/18's. 85% accuracey at goal!! that is amazing.

Over all im very happy with our day. Still have backline deficencies though but we cant do everything in one year. Best player available was pretty much the theme and im glad we got some quality types.

Cale Morton sounds like a Cameron Bruce/Matthew Bate type player.

Addam Maric cannot be compared to anyone - most accurate goalkicker that Champion Data has ever recorded, in AFL and TAC Cup level.

Oh, and I love the "tough as nails" description of Kyle Cheney.

if maric does turn out to be clever and smart he has the most realistic chance of all our draftees of playing next year. Dont need a muscular build if he has the smarts and skills they are reporting. Is addam related to ivan maric from the crows??
Hopefully this allows flash to have a bit more of a run up the ground next year also and maybe even down back.

Still not sure of sampi, he would need to improve his fitness before i personally would even consider him. At this stage id rather put daniel hughes on the list if he is training the house down. Another clever foward like maric.

To me cheaney seems a bit like a clint bartram type from his discription in the paper, also another selection in the 50's. Hopefully cameron has got another gem!!

We did really well in the draft, Morton is as good as any player in the draft Grimes is a gun and was a melbourne supporter growing up so he will show some real passion Maric is the best set shot that has come through the system.

Addam is no relation to Ivan from the crows. Addams surname is pronounced Maric (K) and Ivan's is Maric (ch), don't ask me why or how. Think it has something to do with the their parent coming from different parts of Yugoslavia.

The day I saw Addam kick a lazy 10 against Bendigo last year I hoped and prayed that he would become a Dee. You will much prefer to have him playing in your side than playing against you.

Grimes is the player I would like to know a bit more about.Maric may be the surprise packet.

Who do think will have the most impact in 2008 out of the new recruits? Who will be the first to get a game.

Gave your guys a 9 out of 10....looking at the way things panned out there weren't many I could see with more potential taken after your respective picks...I am not too concerned with Cheney and McNamara, Cheney is sub 3sec 20m and doesn't shirk the contest, a tough nut across HB. McNamara is as good potential as any that late in the draft.

Besides I took Morton, Henderson (Grimes was gone) and Maric in the BF Phantom Draft so I can't give you much less than 9
