Could work if Carlos can be more consistent. He started off real well on Sunday, but just disappeared after that. Carlos certainly has the physical attributes to make a good forward. Is a surprisingly good kick at goal too

The real question is, would you rather Carlos up forward than Edwards or Hartlett? I for one would probably rather Edwards, but Carlos has definately shown enough signs to be given a chance imo

Hartlett for mine, pretty similar players Harts & Setanta but Hartlett has more polish (more likely to convert from set shots)& a bit of mongrel.

Good position to be in with the 3 vying for a spot, give the 3 of them opportunities & the picture will be clearer this year or next.

In saying that if Hampson develops as we expect, then Kreuzer will spend time up forward, meaning less opportunities for the 3 of them.

Not sure on the stats, but i would think Setanta has a better conversion rate from set shots...its probably one part of his game that is ok, kicking on the run is another thing.

and Setanta has plenty of mongrel in him, he is physical during the play, Hartlett for mine isn't that tough (cheap shots behind play don't make you a mongrel)....

Good move IMO. I'd like to see the back 6 settled, and with Jamison, Waite, Thornton, Bower, etc, etc playing good footy as a group, there is no need to disrupt there cohesion with positional changes.

I have mentioned this a few times previously, but I remember seeing Carlos playing at FF down at Williamstown in his 1st season at the club & he kicked 7 goals playing on Williamstown stalwart, Troy West. He easily could have kicked 9 that day as he hit the post with one & shanked another one from about 30 metres out, directly in front.

Except for the NAB Cup last year, I don't think Carlos has coped all that well in defence & if anything looks nervous down there. With Jamison, Waite, Thornton & Bower starting to 'gel' down back, I really think Carlos should be persevered with in the forward line, as we can better cover for the fact that he still struggles to read the play at times & we know he will continually work hard in the forward line.

After a promising start on Sunday, Carlos' opportunities were limited due to us leaving the forward line wide open after half time, so Fev could be 1 on 1 with Harry O'Brien. We won't always have this luxury, therefore having an extra tall, mobile option in the forward line will put extra pressure on opposition defences.

It would make the matchups rather more difficult.

Would be interesting to get a copy of the interview so I can see what happened. But Ratts has always been a good interviewee and can be quite eloquent.

A good course in public speaking will get rid of those "You know's".

I have been saying for some time that Carlos should be played in the forward line, he was very good there in the final rounds of last year when Fev was out for surgery, and after reading that article I think Sticks should be getting out onto the training track and working with our forwards more!
