As far as I can see, Ratts was a little iffy at the start of his coaching career with the club but he has managed to pull the playing group together and put together a season that we can all be happy about.

He has also done the one thing that I used to castigate the previous coach about... he has instilled into a number of players that love of the club and the passion of playing for the team. The players are more interested in playing for the club instead of playing for themselves.

Ratts was a champion player and has shown that he will be an awesome coach for the future.

They play like he did,
get a lot of hard ball and create a heap of opportunites.

The fact that we kick a lot of points,
isn't really a factor, when we have a heap of shots,
one day we will kick 28 goals.

Sure we butcher/clanger it a bit,
but we go and get our own ball,
which is something he was famous for.

Haven't got the polish of teams that he played in,
but with the endeavour/hunger he has instilled,
it will come.

I try not to think about late last year at all, to me it doesn't count.
The boys seem to love Ratts and genuinely have respect for him. That footage of him in the box a few weeks back when he called out 'Go Blues' sums it up. He walked past us after the game to go down to the race and he clapped the crowd as he went. He loves the place and the guys must see it, it seems they want to win for him which is something we've lacked previously.

One criticism i have of Rats today:

Fevola, Kruezer and often another player were constantly fighting for the same ball in pack marking situations. Were not working wih each other. Needed Eddie there to crumb but in his absence instruction should have been given to someone else to play that role or at least for one to stand at the front and one at the back....

There are often situations (not only in the forward line) where we don't play for each other but rather go for individual glory.

Besides that, i am soooooo pleased with Rats and what he has achieved in less than one year.
He has really brought his hardworking attitude to this team!

Go BLUES!
